Fake AIT Facebook page: DaarComm denies any link with Buhari’s death rumour

The management of Daar Communications Plc, has denied any link with a fake Facebook page which rumoured the death of President Muhammadu Buhari, reports ITRealms.

According to the Daar Communication in a press statement made available to ITRealms, said the attention of the management has been drawn to a Facebook page purportedly being operated by the organization.

Consequently, a report was published on the said Facebook that the incumbent President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, who is currently on vacation in London has passed on, describing it as false.

The management, therefore, stated that “It is falsehood dressed up as truth that we opened such Facebook account; We did not publish nor know anything about the report; None of our Correspondents in London filed such report.”

The Editorial Policy of Daar Communication, the management said, is that Correspondents are mandated to file all their reports for vetting and approval before publication which could only originate from the headquarters.

“No Correspondent could individually on his or her own decision publish or cause to be published any story,” part of the press statement read.

DaarComm went on to state that the Facebook page is the brain child of a faceless and mischievous group whose despicable activities must be investigated by security agencies because of the unpleasant consequences.

“We wish to state that AIT runs an official on-line site for News which is not available for use by outsiders,” the management insisted.

Therefore, they dissociated Daar Communications plc, completely from anything contained in the said report which is a figment of the imagination of the authors, and have officially reported the incident to Facebook Managers.
