A United Kingdom-based socio-cultural group, Ogbako Ndi Igbo UK, has petitioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, calling for the removal of the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, over alleged promotion of ethnic bigotry against the Igbo, reports ITREALMS.

Oil industry group, PETAN honours SNEPCo MD with Award of Excellence - ITREALMS

The Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) yesterday presented an Award of Excellence to the Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Ltd (SNEPCo) Ronald Adams, even as it commended Shell for supporting Nigerian content development in the energy industry.
The award which was handed over by PETAN Chairman Wole Ogunsanya during a courtesy call at SNEPCo office, describes the managing director as an “astute and visionary technocrat,” in apparent reference to his efforts to sustain the achievements of SNEPCo in deep-water production since he came into the role in October last year.

The Pan African Conglomerate Dangote Industries Limited, (Dangote Group), and its subsidiaries has disclosed that it paid over N402 billion in taxes in 2024, making it the highest taxpayer in the country.

Dangote’s Chief Branding and Communication Officer, Anthony Chiejina, declared during a meeting with some senior media executives who visited him in his Lagos Office that Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) and its subsidiaries, namely, Dangote Cement, NASCON, Dangote Packaging Limited among others, remitted a total of N402.319billion for the out-gone year as taxes as responsible business enterprises.

A frontline good governance group, Govindex Leadership Empowerment and Leadership Foundation, has petitioned the Department of State Service (DSS) over the inflammatory utterances of former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, Lagos Garages Manager Musliu Akinsanyo a.k.a MC Olumo, former Managing Director of New Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Bayo Onanuga, and two others, which GovIndex described as incitement of hatred and instigation of ethnic cleansing against Ndi-Igbo, reports

Foremost civic society organisation on anti-corruption and transparency in governance, the Human and Environmental Development Agenda (HEDA Resource Centre) has commended the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr Yakubu Maikyau, for boycotting the recent Bar ceremony over the refusal of the Chairman of the Body of Benchers, Chief Wole Olanipekun, from presiding over the ceremony on moral and ethical ground.

The Civil group in a letter signed by its Chairman, Olanrewaju Suraju, titled ‘Solidarity with the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) on Boycott of the Call to Bar Ceremony’, described Mr Yakubu Maikyau’s action as standing for the truth and defending the professional integrity of the association, therefore raised concerns over the legal profession's gradually loss of respect and prestige for which it was renowned over the years.
