The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has warned Nigerians to be wary of carbide ripen fruits, because it causes cancer, reports ITREALMS.

Sounding this warning on Wednesday in Lagos at a day “NAFDAC Media Sensitisation Workshop on Dangers of Drug Hawking and Carbide ripen fruits” the Director-General (DG) of NAFDAC, Prof. Mrs Moji Christianah Adeyeye, warned Nigerians on the dangers of patronising drug hawkers and fruits ripened from unnatural sources, particularly carbides.

The Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2022 turned negative to -$187 million as a result of equity divestments, reports ITREALMS.

A Nigerian student identified as Monsurat Temidayo Awodein, has been allegedly involved in a scam operation that issues fake Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS), reports ITREALMS.

Investigations by ITREALMS informed that Monsurat, a student who arrived in the UK last year to pursue a master's degree at the University of Dundee, Scotland, is alleged to be at the center of this deceitful operation.

ITREALMS also gathered that the illicit scheme involves the issuance of fraudulent healthcare worker Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS) has since come to light, with over 40 unsuspecting applicants falling victim to the scam.

The Patron of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Chief Henry Njoku has debunked the purported dissolution of the National Executive Committee (NECOM) of the association as credited to one Dapo Olawumi who alleged that Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha a self acclaimed ANLCA board of Trustees Chairman has dissolved the NECOM was a ruse, malicious, misleading and inconsistent with ANLCA supreme constitution.

Addressing journalists in his office in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State Capital recently, Njoku said, "My attention has been drawn to a publication credited to Dapo Olawumi that the National Executive Committee NECOM of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents ANLCA has been dissolved by Taiwo Mustapha who was alleged to be the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ANLCA and acted in that capacity to purport to have dissolved the NECOM."
