Airport Vigil (Episode 3) — The Night Vigil (7:00 PM → 11:30 PM) by Remmy Nweke - WeekendDigits@ITREALMS

If Episode 1 was The Morning Delusion and Episode 2 was The Afternoon Ripple Effect, Episode 3 brings us to the ultimate survival test: The Night Vigil.
Airport Vigil (Episode 3) — The Night Vigil (700 PM → 1130 PM) by Remmy Nweke - WeekendDigits@ITREALMS
This is the high-stakes, final flight of the evening. It is a race against ticking clocks, curfew threats, and the terrifying reality of "daylight-only" destination airports. Booking a 7:00 PM flight in Nigeria means entering a psychological thriller where the prize is either taking off into the midnight sky or sleeping on an airport lounge chair.

Airport Vigil (Episode 2) — Afternoon Ripple Effect (11:00 AM → 7:00 PM) by Remmy Nweke - WeekendDigits@ITREALMS

If Episode 1 was The Morning Delusion; where fresh-faced hope is crushed before noon, Episode 2 is something far more sinister.

Welcome to the Afternoon Ripple Effect, the chronological domino rally of Nigerian aviation that turns a calm midday commute into a multi-hour terminal sentence.
Airport Vigil (Episode 2) — Afternoon Ripple Effect (1100 AM → 700 PM) by Remmy Nweke - WeekendDigits@ITREALMS
In Nigerian airports, time is not linear; it is cumulative. When an airline announces an 8:00 AM flight is delayed, that problem does not vanish when the plane finally leaves at 1:00 PM. That delay must, by law of physics, be passed down to the next victim. Today, that victim is you.

Death Be Not Proud: Publisher Dotun Oladipo and the Tolling Bell by Max Amuchie | The Sunday Stew - Tribute@ITREALMS

At just 56, Dotun Oladipo has left us far too soon.

John Donne, the 17th-century English poet and cleric, wrote words more than four centuries ago that seem almost written for a moment such as this:

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main; and if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friends or of thine own were; any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.”

Death Be Not Proud: Publisher Dotun Oladipo and the Tolling Bell by Max Amuchie | The Sunday Stew - Tribute@ITREALMS

Those words have stayed with me since I first encountered them. I have returned to them at moments of profound loss, including the tragedy of the Bellview Airlines crash in October 2005. But I never imagined that I would one day find myself returning to them to make sense of the death of Dotun Oladipo.

Airport Vigil (Episode 1) — The Morning Delusion (8:00 AM → 4:00 PM) by Remmy Nweke -WeekendDigits@ITREALMS

In Nigerian aviation, there exists a sacred, unwritten law that every frequent flyer learns to recite like a creed: "If you must travel by air, book the first flight of the day."

The logic behind this doctrine seems foolproof. The aircraft is presumably already parked on the tarmac overnight. The flight crew has had a full night’s sleep. No previous delays exist in the system to cause a domino effect.
Airport Vigil (Episode 1) — The Morning Delusion (800 AM → 400 PM) by Remmy Nweke -WeekendDigits@ITREALMS
Armed with this supreme confidence, you set your alarm clock for 4:00 AM, forfeit a proper night’s rest, skip breakfast, and brave the pitch-black morning roads of Lagos to reach Murtala Muhammed Airport (MM2) by 6:00 AM.
