The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) presided over by Honourable Justice C. O. Oba sitting in Court 32 has struck out Charge No. FCT/HC/CR/469/2022 filed by Falana & Falana against the Chairman, Zinox Technologies, Leo Stan Ekeh and officials of Technology Distributions Limited, including Mrs. Chioma Ekeh, Chris Eze Ozims, Shade Oyebode, Charles Adigwe and others over an alleged fraud involving a N170m contract with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

This follows a letter dated October 28, 2022 from the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, through the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions of the Federation (DPP) to Falana & Falana withdrawing the fiat earlier granted them in May 2022 and also directing them to immediately withdraw the said Charge constituted as FCT/HC/CR/469/2022 leveled against Mr. Ekeh and the others, based on the findings that the fiat was obtained on misrepresentation and concealment of material facts by their client, Mr. Benjamin Joseph of Citadel Oracle Concepts Limited.

The Federal Government has ordered the continuation of prosecution to a logical conclusion of one Benjamin Joseph, owner of Citadel Oracle Concepts Limited, an Ibadan-based ICT retail firm and alleged accuser of the Zinox Chairman, Leo Stan Ekeh, for malicious falsehood over an alleged N170m fraud.

The order was communicated via a letter dated 6th June from the office of the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami to the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba and communicated to the courts by the IGP on 26th September 2022.

Agugoesi, ITREALMS gathered, takes over from the erstwhile chairman and Group Executive Editor, DigitalSENSE Africa Media group, Mr. Remmy Nweke, who assumed his latest position as chair, Board of Trustees of TJAA, after an election conducted recently.

The TJAA new chairman was elected alongside Mr. Adelaja Bisi as Vice Chairman; Mr. Adeniran Odufayo, General Secretary; Mr. Abraham Akpabio as Assistant-General Secretary; Mrs. Itunu Olamiotan Ola as Treasurer, Chief Mrs. Folashade Azeez, Welfare Officer, and Mr. Emmanuel Udodinma as the Public Relations Officer (PRO).

A press statement available to ITREALMS, and endorsed by Emma Udodinma, Public Relations Officer, Agugoesi was quoted in his acceptance speech, after the online voting exercise, expressed thanks to all those who made their emergence possible, especially the Electoral Committee, headed by Mr. Fabian Anawo of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and his predecessor, Mr. Nweke. He also called on all past students of Times Journalism Institute Lagos to identify with the association and support programmes targeted at moving TJAA forward through active participation.

Some Nigerian tweeps have called on the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Prof. Mahmood Yakubu to resign with immediate effect, reports ITREALMS.

Tweeps are Twitter enthusiasts who often use the Twitter online message service to send and receive tweets.

According to tweeps who are canvassing for his resignation, Yakubu has crossed the redline by this alleged endorsement of the Presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC), President Mohammadu Buhari (PMB) by adorning purported APC campaign cap to the National Council of States meeting recently, reports ITREALMS.

This accusation spurred from a tweet @SweetShantel alleged that Prof. Yakubu was wearing a cap with APC’s logo, the broom.

She pointed out that this was the same cap President Buhari of APC wore recently during his campaign tour to Taraba State.

“What this means, is that @inecNigeria has endorsed PMB,” she lamented and called for his immediate resignation from office.

Another Tweep who goes with @Mr. Profit, says that if it were to be a cap designed for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign that APC will cry out and drummed support for @Sweetshantel.
