Shared communications infrastructure giant, IHS Holding Limited, widely known as IHS Towers, has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, heavily anchoring its biggest social and environmental milestone achievements in Nigeria, reports ITREALMS.

The comprehensive document, covering activities from January 1 through December 31, 2025, detailed the telecom infrastructure developer's strategic progress across its foundational four-pillar sustainability framework, which targets ethics and governance, environment and climate change, education and economic growth, alongside its workforce and host communities.

At the UN Climate Change Conference in Baku, the International Monetary Fund, the Global Environment Facility, development banks, international financial institutions, the private sector, and other development partners launched initiatives to catalyze climate finance in the three cities.

Leading tower company, IHS Towers Nigeria is backing the West Africa Telecoms Infrastructure Summit and Exhibition (WATISE) 2023, to ensure sponsoring the successful hosting of the first regional gathering of stakeholders in the telecoms industry, an initiative designed to tackle issues in the industry.

Unveiled! 2017 WSIS prizes on ‘ICT for Development’ initiatives

The top-90 winning Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) initiatives from around the world competing for prestigious World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Prizes 2017 have been unveiled, reports ITRealms.

The prizes being coordinated by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), ITRealms gathered, saw the emergence of one top winner and four champions in each of the 18 prize categories.

The 18-category winners, ITRealms reports, will be honoured and presented with their laurels, and champions honoured, on 13 June at the WSIS Prizes 2017 ceremony to be held at the Geneva International Conference Centre during WSIS Forum 2017.

ITRealms recalls that WSIS Prizes honour outstanding projects that leverage the power of ICT to accelerate socio-economic development around the globe.

ITU Secretary-General Houlin Zhao said that it is a great privilege for ITU to announce the top 90 outstanding ICT for development initiatives being recognized at this year's WSIS Forum.

"These initiatives represent the best-of-the-best of efforts being made right now all around the globe to leverage the capacities of ICTs to improve livelihoods worldwide," he said.
