Publisher of ITREALMS Online loses father, Ogbuefi Dominic Nweke - ITREALMS

Renowned community leader, Ogbuefi Dominic Udegbunem Nweke, also known as Ozo Sopuluchukwu of Awba-Ofemili, in Awka North Local Government Area has passed on at the age of 91 years.
Ogbuefi Nweke, who was the father of the Group Executive Editor of ITREALMS Media group, Sir Remmy Nweke died on Friday, August 9, 2024, after a brief illness.

Confirming this, Sir Remmy Nweke said his father passed on at the Regina Caeli Hospital Awka, in Anambra State.

Sir Nweke also said his late father was the patriarch of Ozo Nweke kindred of Umuosite village, Awba-Ofemili when he died.

Reputed for his hardwork and frankness to matters, Ogbuefi Dominic Udegbunem Nweke adopted his Ozo Sopuluchukwu title in reverence to God Almighty in all that concerned him with peaceful disposition.

Until his demise, Ogbuefi Dominic Udegbunem Nweke was the famous sibling of direct Ozo Nweke descendants.

Known for his accommodating nature and ability to always sue for peace, Ozo Sopuluchukwu will be missed by his wife, children, in-laws, grand children and great grand children, who affirmed that handwork pays.

Ogbuefi Nweke is survived by his wife, Princess Christiana Nweke, sons, daughters, in-laws, grand children and great grand children.


Funeral arrangements for Ogbuefi Dominic Udegbunem Nweke will be announced by his family in due time, in memory and celebration of his life.

CKN wins US-Nigeria Legislative & Executive Leadership Media Outstanding Award in USA

 
The publisher of CKN News, Mr. Chris Kehinde Nwandu, has won the United States-Nigeria Legislative and Executive Leadership Media Outstanding Award, reports ITRealms.

Affirming this to ITRealms, Nwandu popularly known as CKN, said in Washington DC, "The final crown came with this at an epoch event at America's seat of power ,Washington DC, when I was awarded the Most Outstanding Media Personality Award.

The award was presented at the US-Nigeria Legislative and Executive Leadership Forum for promoting social awareness in Nigeria through the media.

IT & Telecom Digest publisher loses mother



The publisher of IT & Telecom Digest magazine, Mr. Mkpe Abang, has announced the death of his dear mother, Madam Akpene Nancy Obun, ITRealms reports.

In a joint press statement endorsed by Mr Abang, ITRealms gathered, the Obun family of Bokalum Community and Abang family of Bamba Community, both in Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State made public the passing on of their daughter, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who departed the flesh on September 8, 2015 at the age of 85 years.

Funeral, as announced by the families, will take place at Bamba Community, on November 6, 2015.

ITRealms learnt that the departed Madam Akpene Nancy Obun left behind four children, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Presidential poll: Police brutalises Journalist at Lagos INEC office

The publisher of New Sentinel online news medium, Mr. Peter Jones was yesterday, Saturday, March 28, had a guest of an overzealous armed police officer, (names and service number withheld); for discussing with passersby after he was directed by the same officer to answer nature call at a location distance from the premises of the Lagos INEC office in Yaba, reports ITRealms.

Reports reaching ITRealms showed that the Journalist Jones, was dully accredited journalists by INEC to observe the elections and was putting on INEC accredited vest at the Yaba INEC office, when he was pressed and equally took permission from the police officers on duty and got their consent on whether to use a particular spot before he was asked to move a step forward.

 He however obeyed as directed but while returning, the police whose identity was heavily shielded by his colleagues then questioned Peter Jones on why he had to discuss with the passersby after he had been directed on where to urinate. Mr. Jones however told them that he was exchanging pleasantries with somebody he knows but the unruly policeman descended on him with horse whip.

“In my attempt to explain myself, the police rained abuses on me, and then brought out his horsewhip to whip me severally to the extent that blood was gushing on my face,” Jones explained to his concerned colleagues and higher police officers in pains.

Meanwhile, the policeman has been arrested and put in the guard room even as several police officers surrounded New Sentinel Publisher appealing to him to prevail on his colleagues to exercise restraint in publishing the story. 

A source said yesterday that angry colleagues made several attempts to speak with the Lagos state commissioner of police but his phone was not going. At INEC office in Yaba, policemen formed groups discussing the matter in low tones even as they condemned the action of their over-zealous colleague.
