Shell exhibition delivers value @Energy Summit in Abuja - ITREALMS

Shell companies in Nigeria underlined their participation at the 8th Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES) in Abuja with a high-profile exhibition that hosted dignitaries among them the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil) Senator Henieken Lokpobiri.
The Minister was briefed on the range of Shell businesses in Nigeria and recent investments in gas by The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC) and in deep-water oil production by Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited, (SNEPCo). Senator Lokpobiri expressed his appreciation for the continued confidence in Nigeria’s energy sector.

NIG conference platform for broadband penetration strategy

The President, Nigeria Internet Group (NIG),Engr. Adebayo Banjo said the organization’s conference and exhibition which is an annual event is designed as a platform for industry stakeholders and the public to gather and strategize on contemporary industry issues, ITRealms reports.
NIG, which is a non-governmental organization that promotes Internet usage in Nigeria has announced plans to host her Annual Conference and Exhibition 2015 edition slated for August 27 and 28, 2015 in Lagos, with the theme 'Internet Penetration: The Way Forward'.
Banjo, ITRealms gathered, hinted that among issues lined up for discussion include issues of critical success factors to the infrastructure provision, improved broadband penetration, appropriate legal and regulatory frameworks and political-will of the government to implement right policies.
The NIG boss said the conference has plans to invite Nigerian and international experts to address key issues especially as it regards the theme of the conference just as Thisday’s report, said the conference will serve as a vehicle for corporate bodies and organizations to display their products and services before stakeholders and guests.
The former Honourable Minister of Communication, Engr. Olawale Ige will serve as the Chairman of the occasion while the Director General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Dr. Peter Jack will present keynote address.
The NIG president said there will be the NIG Annual General Meeting on the second day of the conference even as he thanked the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the MTN Nigeria for their supports, ITRealms also reports.

MTN leads technology influencers to Tech+ exhibition
MTN Nigeria Communications Ltd is leading key industry players to a
two-day Tech+ conference and exhibition, holding later this month in Lagos,
reports ITRealms.
Tech+ which prides itself as Nigeria’s major technology conference and exhibitions, ITRealms reports, is slated for July 24 and 25, 2015 at the Eko Hotels and
Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Some of the industry influencers backing the two-day show comprised Coscharis
Motors, Huawei, Jumia, Google, Samsung, Terragon Group, Enplug Africa, Atlantic
Exhibition and Lagos State Signage and Advertising Agency (LASAA) among others.
Speaking at a media conference in Lagos, Richard
Iweanoge, GM, Consumer Marketing, MTN Nigeria, noted that the global impact of technology
across all areas of human endeavour has made it more imperative that people stay
in touch with the world around them to be able to identify with technological
advancements that could reshape their world.
“As
we all know, technology is fast evolving and the world has become a global
village where people from across the globe can communicate with one another
with just a touch of a button. At times like these, it is important that we
stay in touch with the world around us and keep track of the latest innovations
that impact our world and our current existence.
“Technology is
equally shaping the world of business. Enterprise teams now collaborate face-to-face without travel. And with all their business info in the Cloud,

Also speaking
in her brief remarks, Head of Communications, Jumia, BertilleGuitton said her company’s

Meanwhile, Coscharis Motors has announced plans to launch the
Jaguar XE range at the Tech+ Conference and Exhibitions.

Services, Coscharis Group, Abiona Babarinde revealed this while speaking at the
formal unveiling of TECH+ Conference and
Exhibitions.
According to him, the launch ‘is to highlight the

TITANS OF TECH marks ten years of constructive operation
The 10th anniversary of the
prestigious Titans of Tech conference
and exhibition has been scheduled to hold on July 22, 2015 at the Oriental Hotel,
Victoria Island, Lagos, ITRealms reports.

Aganbi, Managing Consultant, Technology Africa, noted in a chat with news men
in Lagos, that “in today’s modern society, information communication technology
(ICT) continues to play an increasingly significant role in the development of
any nation culturally, socially and economically”.
Speaking
further, ITRealms learnt,
he stated that “The theme of this year’s conference “How ICT Powers Nigeria’s Economy” was chosen specifically to
highlight the fact that ICT has become a key driver of economic growth over the

Digital Footprint goes to Dublin Science Gallery
The ADAPT Centre, formerly known as
CNGL has confirmed to ITRealms that its weeklong Lifelogging is headed to the
city of Dublin Science Gallery.
ITRealms reports that Lifelogging week
has splited into lab, big foot and exhibition.
According to a press statement made
available to ITRealms, these three upcoming events were designed to help participants
understand how much of their data is "out there" and learn strategies
to make them a little more secure.
Equally, the outlined includes that the exhibition, for instance, which commenced Friday, February 13, 2015 would last till April 12, this year.
As for the Lifelogging Lab week, ITRealms gathered it will last
for a week between Tuesday 17th
February and Sunday 22nd February, 2015.
Also, there would be a 45 minutes Bigfoot workshop to afford participnts to know how big is their digital footprint.
The researchers, led by Dr. Kevin Koidl, ADAPT Centre, Trinity College Dublin will be featured alongside participants who will be exploring the LIFELOGGING LAB by taking part in psychometric testing and contributing to real research on social media, online personalities, and data exhaustion.

has teamed up with AYLIEN, Dublin based experts
in Text and Sentiment Analysis, to create BigFoot - a system that captures your online persona and
determines how much of your data is out there.
This is coming as the workshop on BigFoot: Keeping your data to yourself tends to consider if the social media is the death of privacy, or just an evolution of what currently would be understood as ‘private life’?
