Weeks after her harrowing ordeal at the hands of her captors, Mrs. Hajara, wife of Hon. Mgbang Rex David, has broken her silence to share the ongoing trauma and fear gripping her and her family.
The recent abduction, which kept her in captivity for several days, has left lasting scars, rendering her unable to resume normal life or feel safe in her own home.

GOCOP meets acting Customs CG, speaks on Abuja confab'23 - ITREALMS

The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) has visited the acting Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, CG Adewale Adeniyi, in Abuja as part of preparations for its annual national conference.
The GOCOP team was led on the visit to the CG by its President, Maureen Chigbo, who spoke about the conference.
The Guild, she said, will be holding its annual national conference in Abuja for the first time since its inception on October 5, 2023 at Abuja Continental Hotel.
Chigbo, who said the GOCOP is a group made up of top rated journalists who have practiced at the highest level in journalism, urged the NCS to ensure synergy with the media, especially since the new helmsman used to be in charge of the service’s public relations.
Responding to the GOCOP President's remarks, the customs acting CG expressed delight over the visit.
Adeniyi was particularly elated to learn that real professionals are the ones within the rank of GOCOP, especially since it is clear it's made up of former Managing Directors/Editor-in-Chiefs, Editors and Line Editors, who have worked in the newspaper business for at least 10 years before venturing into online journalism practice.
He expressed confidence that the emergence of GOCOP will help in sifting the grains from the chaff in online journalism practice.
With GOCOP, he reasoned, it will be easier to determine who the real professionals in the online business are for proper synergy.
Adeniyi assured the media that he will continue to crave partnership towards achieving the goals of his service.
The GOCOP team included Dotun Oladipo, the immediate past president; Danlami Nmodu, mni, Deputy President; Ken Ugbeche, Vice President, South; Tom Chiahemen, Vice President, North; Collins Edomaruse, General Secretary; and Tajudeen Kareem, an Abuja-based GOCOP member.
The Public Relations Officer of the NCS, Abdullahi Maiwada, was also present at the courtesy visit alongside other officers.

Akunyili would be speaking to how to “Promote Peace Through Technology,
Innovation and Knowledge Sharing,” at a five-day event holding in Alexandria,
Egypt, reports ITRealms.
The 5-day event which commenced on 21st through
May 25, 2017 and tagged Peace Hack in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA)
where peace innovation ambassadors are utilizing the power of innovation hubs
across the region as tools for open dialogue revolving around building and
sustaining peace.
ITRealms also
gathered the objective of Peace Hack MENA is to explore alternative forms of
peace talks that ultimately harness the power of technology, innovation and
youth entrepreneurship. The initiative acts as a platform that aims to
recognize the role of technology in creating valuable networks of collaboration
essential in today’s human interaction, one that presents vast opportunities
for innovative solutions in the context of co-existence and peace building.

reports was among the 15 selected peace ambassadors to speak to participants from
11 countries in the MENA region - namely The Netherlands, Sweden, Germany,
France, Tunisia, Palestine, Egypt, Jordon, Libya, Morocco and Lebanon.
ITRealms further
reports that participants are exploring the notion of actively looking for the
added value created by innovation hubs, makerspaces and co-working spaces in
developing social innovation and promoting peace building.
The list of international speakers includes Chidiogo Akunyli
from the World Economic Forum, Carolina Olsson from Ebbepark and Rasha Tantawy
from Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center.
The peace ambassadors are also partaking in visiting some of
the Mediterranean city’s iconic touristic landmarks, while the last day will
mark The HACK 4 PEACE Public Event with the Alexandrian community. Javeria
Rizvi Kabani, Deputy Director, Swedish Institute Alexandria states, “Based on
the power of collaboration and networks we wanted to bring young innovators
together to search for new ways of reaching the Sustainable Development Goals
(Global Goals) and the UNSCR 2250 resolution, recognizing youth as agents for
peace.”
The event is organized by The Swedish Institute Alexandria,
icealex innovation hub and Global Shapers Alex Hub and is supported by numerous
organisations and initiatives such as SI. (Svenska Institutet), Techne Summit,
GIG (Global Innovation Gathering), RiseUp Summit and r0g agency. Among the hubs
that participants will be contributing through are Women Leaders in Technology,
Refugee Youth Forum and Think Tank Egypt.
