ICANN87 Prep week schedule released ahead of Bali annual general meeting - ITREALMS Online

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers has officially published the schedule for the upcoming ICANN87 Prep Week, reports ITREALMS.

Designed to prepare the global Internet governance community for the ICANN87 Annual General Meeting taking place in Bali, Indonesia, from October 17 to 22, 2026, the preliminary virtual program features ten targeted technical and policy sessions.

Prep Week runs from Monday, October 5, through Wednesday, October 7, 2026. All virtual sessions will be conducted in English, with real-time interpretation provided in French and Spanish.

To participate in any of the ten scheduled virtual sessions, community members must complete prior registration on the official ICANN87 event portal, after which confirmation details and calendar invites are issued via email. Individual virtual room links and remote access credentials will be activated 24 hours before the start of each presentation, while post-session recordings, slide decks, and transcripts will be uploaded to the main platform progressively as they become available.

The three-day schedule opens on Monday, October 5, at 15:00 UTC with an update from the Review of Reviews Cross-Community Group, followed by dedicated sessions on DNS Abuse Mitigation PDP1, Contractual Compliance, and ICANN's Ecological Responsibility.

On Tuesday, October 6, deliberations shift toward regional infrastructure and policy, starting at 15:00 UTC with the Regional Internet Registry Governance Update, followed by progress reports on the New gTLD Program's 2026 Round, Policy and Advice, and the future roadmap for Policy Implementation and Reviews.

Prep Week concludes on Wednesday, October 7, with a focus on institutional oversight, featuring a session on Geopolitical, Legislative, and Regulatory Updates at 15:00 UTC, before wrapping up with the Planning and Finance Update at 16:30 UTC.

Formed in 1998 as a public benefit non-profit corporation, ICANN coordinates the global Domain Name System, IP address allocation, and autonomous system numbers to ensure a stable, secure, and unified global Internet infrastructure.
