The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has felicitated with Sir Emeka Offor, a foremost Nigerian entrepreneur and philanthropist, on the occasion of his birthday, Tuesday, February 10, 2025, reports ITREALMS.

In a goodwill message available to 
ITREALMS, Governor Soludo commended Sir Offor's journey from his humble beginnings in Oraifite to becoming one of Nigeria's most successful entrepreneurs as epitomising the resilient and industrious spirit of the Anambra people. Through his company, Chrome Group, he has created thousands of jobs and contributed significantly to Nigeria's oil and gas sector development.

Nigerian Team Charis shines @ Technovation 2015, wins $10,000



Young women from Nigeria and India are celebrating their entrepreneurial success after being awarded $10,000 each in seed funding for their mobile app ideas at the 2015 Technovation World Pitch Competition recently in San Francisco, United States of America (USA), reports ITRealms.

Investigations by ITRealms, showed that estimated 400 apps were submitted to Technovation from 28 countries.

These 400 apps, ITRealms gathered were narrowed down to top 10 finalists from Brazil, India, Mexico, Nigeria and the United States, whose teams were flown into San Francisco for a series of events which culminated in the two day World Pitch Conference.

According to Events and Engagement Director, Technovation, Allie Holmes, on June 24, all teams pitched their apps to an audience of tech professionals and a panel of judges from Yahoo, Yelp, Google, Hackbright Academy and the Salesforce.com Foundation, and on June 25 learned with two teams awarded $10,000 each to develop their app and bring it to market.

“This year, the first place awards went to Team Charis from Nigeria (High School Division) and Team Pentechan from India (Middle School Division),” Holmes said.

ITRealms further showed that High School Winners, which is Nigerian Team Charis took first place in the high school division for their app “Discardious,” a mobile solution to the problem of improper waste disposal in Nigeria.

Team Charis’ members are Nmesoma Ogbonna, Sonam Kumar, Charlotte Takem, Praise Emem David-Oku, and Grace Akpoiroro, all of whom attend iKapture Afterschool Academy. They were mentored and coached by Yemurayi Chinyand and Grace Ihejiamaizu.

Also, the second place was awarded to Team WoCo, a team from Phillips Academy in Andover, MA, for their app PraisePop. Team AMEKA from Winchester, MA took third place for their app Safeguard Driving.

For the Middle School Winners, which Team Pentechan from India emerged first place for their app “Sellexo”, an online marketplace for users to buy and sell dry waste.

Team Pentechan’s members are:  Anupama Nhavalore, Navyasree Balamuralidhar, Sanjana Vasanth, Mahima Mehendale, and Swasthi P Rao all of whom attend New Horizon Public School in Bangalore, India. Team Pentechan was mentored and coached by Pratheeksha K. S., Dipika Rajendran, and Aravamudhan Narayanan

Team AAT from New York City took the second place prize in the middle school division for their app ConcussionChecker.

The two first place teams will receive $10,000 in seed funding to continue developing their app and bring it to market when they return home.

All World Pitch events were sponsored by AVG, CA Technologies, LinkedIn, Rackspace and Yahoo.

Tech on Wheels with CFA debuts on Family Love FM Radio Network

The city of Lagos is no doubt the hub for most economic and entrepreneurial activities within the country including innovations and developments in and around the Tech ecosystem.
But, the truth is that Lagos State only has a population of about 20 million people out of a total population of about 170 million Nigerians, who also have rights to receive tech-related knowledge which can help them become more productive and possible direct players in this growing worldwide industry.
In order to ensure that other parts of Nigeria are not excluded, Tech on Wheels with CFA will hit the airwaves from the first of July, 2015 on the Family Love FM radio network which has the potential of reaching millions of Nigerians weekly across the following cities; Port Harcourt and environs, Abuja and Environs as well as Umuahia and Environs.
Tech on Wheels with CFA, is a 15 minutes Tech program hosted by Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata Jnr. "CFA" who is the Presenter of Tech Trends on Channels Television and would air every Wednesday as follows:
• 5.15-5.30pm on 97.7 Love FM Port Harcourt
• 6:30-6:45pm on 104.5 Love FM Abuja
• 7:30-7:45pm on 103.9 Love FM Umuahia
All editions of the show will be uploaded on http://www.CFA.ng/radio to cater for those who miss any episode and for those residing in other parts of the world.
The program will feature interesting, educative and inspiring segments such as:
1. Digital Tips: which will focus of content around Productivity Mobile Apps, Internet tips, Internet of things, blogging, making money online and lots more
2. Safety Alert: the biggest challenge with technology today is security, so this segment deals with security, privacy, online scam, phishing, password management and general safety alerts.
3. Everything Tech: A lot is happening in our Tech Ecosystem and this is the segment that deals with Innovation, gadgets, interesting new developments, breakthrough stories, upcoming events etc.  
The show is designed to be unique and inspiring and in line with the CFA style of not being extremely techy – it’s the kind of show anyone, geeks and non-geeks, can tune in to and enjoy.
