IXPN to host intensive CCNA hands-on training @Lagos - ITREALMS

The Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria (IXPN) has announced plans to host a five-day Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Hands-On and Practical Lab Training in Lagos, reports ITREALMS.

The training, which is billed to run from Monday, September 15 to Friday, September 19, 2025, will hold at the IXPN Training Room, 8th Floor, 6 Broad Street, Marina, Lagos, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.

MDXI achieves TCCF becomes most certified data center in Nigeria - ITREALMS Online

MDXI’s 600 rack facility in Lekki is the premier commercial Data Center in West Africa built to meet the rapidly growing demand for colocation, managed hosting and cloud services within the region, reports ITRealms.

MDXI is MainOne’s  data centre subsidiary, which ITRealms reported, recently received its Tier III Constructed Facility certification (TCCF) from the Uptime Institute.

With this new milestone, MDXI becomes the leading Data center in West Africa with the top 5 certifications in the industry, being the Tier III Constructed Facility certification, TCCF, the PCI-DSS certification which certifies the Data center to process payment card information, the SAP Infrastructure Services license which certifies the Data Center as ideal for running SAP applications and infrastructure, and ISO 27001 and 9001 certifications.

This TCCF certification is awarded by the Uptime Institute as a performance-based evaluation of a data centre’s concurrently maintainable site infrastructure. Tier Certification of Constructed Facility is a progression from Tier Certification of Design Documents (TCDD) and goes beyond the review of paper designs to rigorous on-site testing to root out discrepancies between the actual installation and design.

The multiple certifications of MainOne’s MDXI demonstrate compliance to globally accepted standards on high availability, commitment towards the security and protection of the information assets of the company and its customers, and provides assurance of the quality of the Data Centre’s infrastructure and ability to react to disruptions due to unplanned activities.

2016 Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum on IG4D, IPV6 fascinates SystemSpecs

The Nigeria’s pride in the software development industry and owners of Remita, the SystemSpecs Limited, has given its backing to the 8th edition of a two-day Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum on Internet Governance for Development (IG4D), and Nigeria IPv6 Roundtable (IPV6), being hosted by an At-Large Structure (ALS) certified by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) in Lagos, reports ITRealms.

The organisers of the two-day event led by Mrs. Nkemdilim Nweke, the Executive Director, Operations at DigitalSENSE Africa Media, disclosed this at the weekend, saying that they are glad to have SystemSpecs on board to share opportunities for Nigerians at the forum which holds at Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), former NITEL Training School, Cappa-Oshodi in Lagos on June 2 and 3, this year.

This, she said, would definitely inspire participants to take advantage of the opportunities online, especially on the use and exploration of the Remita platform, as an e-Payments and e-Collections solution on a single multi-bank podium.

She also said that Remita is in use by many individuals, public and private sector organisations that process multiple transactions on a monthly basis from over 22 commercial banks in the country and has significantly assisted in revolutionizing the e-payment industry in Nigeria.

The 2016 theme for Day 1- IG4D, she said, is ‘Internet Governance: Creating Opportunities for All Nigerians’ scheduled for Thursday, June 2, 2016, just as Day 2 is the Nigeria IPV6 Roundtable in commemoration of the World IPv6 Day with the theme ‘Creating Opportunities for Nigerians with IPv6’ on Friday, June 3, 2016.

Nweke noted that DigitalSENSE Africa (DSA) Media, an At-Large Structure (ALS) certified by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), offers an avenue for experts to share information that will benefit Nigerian populace, especially at this economic downturn so as to enable them take advantage of opportunities avalanche online.

She, therefore, urge Nigerian youths, students and adults with youth at heart to register to take part in the free forum, to further strengthen their creativity for wealth creation.

The two-day forum, she said, is being hosted in collaboration with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and welcomes other corporate Nigeria to take the opportunity to showcase with they offer for participants who are dominantly youths and students as part of wealth creation of the federal government.

The  Executive Director, Operations, expressed optimism that the forum has been structured to act as a rallying point for Nigerian internet stakeholders, moreso in raising and addressing salient issues concerning the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector both locally and globally.


The two-day forum, Mrs. Nweke pointed out has been planned to boost positive adoption of the Internet among participants.
