TK boosts in-flight entertainment with designer headphones

The Turkish Airlines popularly known in the industry as TK has introduced a specially designed headphones to boost its in-flight entertainment services, reports ITRealms.

The state-of-the-art Philips headphones in its business class, ITRealms gathered is part of the efforts aimed to make its passengers' flights into an unequalled experience.

The airline, in a statement, said it offers special headphones in the business class of international flights except intercontinental ones.

“These new high-end headphones, specially designed for long flight hours, will enable the passengers to experience a more comfortable journey along with the award-winning in-flight entertainment systems of the carrier. 

“By the end of May, the headphones, having such special features as breathable ear cushions, adjustable earpieces, compact folding and a powerful sound isolation, will be available on business class of Turkish Airlines’ international flights (except intercontinental routes) with an eco-friendly packaging,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, Turkish Airlines has restated commitment towards continuing to improve its in-flight offerings, as it strives to provide the world’s best passenger experience.

Nafi Diaby delivers baby girl onboard Turkish Airlines

A woman passenger was at the weekend delivered of a baby girl on board Turkish Airline enroute to Conakry, Ouagadougou, reports ITRealms.

The little guest, ITRealms gathered, got all passengers of Turkish Airlines’ TK538 Conakry-Ouagadougou flight excited.

A press statement from Turkish Airlines, made available to ITRealms, showed the cabin crew, assisted the woman passenger named Nafi Diaby, 28-week-old pregnant traveler flying with Conakry (Guinea)-Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) flight, during a child-birth labour, promptly responded to her in order to assist her childbirth during the flight.

ITRealms reported that after the smooth landing of Boeing B737-900 type aircraft to the Ouagadougou Airport, the mother Nafi Diaby and her newborn baby girl were taken to the hospital in order to be kept under observation for a while.

Turkish Airlines’ Ouagadougou station officials reported that the baby and the mother currently are both doing well as at the time of going to press.

Also, ITRealms reports that the newborn baby was named “Kadiju” on the stay at hospital.


ITRealms recollects that the names of the cockpit and cabin crews that assisted for on the birth include Capt. İrfan Kurşun GEÇMEZ, Capt. Melih ATALAN, Chief Purser, Ayşe Evrim FİDAN, and the Cabin Attendants; Bouthayna İNANIR, Azra YURT, and Demet HOCAOĞLU.

Nigerians in US flights to enjoy free WiFi, says Turkish Airlines

The Turkish Airlines is offering a new telecommunications service that allows Nigerians and other passengers on United States-bound flights, reports ITRealms.

The airline, also said this allowance has become necessary in order to further ensure a pleasant travel to the United States on Turkish Airlines, which is Europe’s Best Airline for six consecutive years, according to recent Skytrax results.

A press statement from the airline available to ITRealms, says it extends Business Class free on-board internet services to economy passengers in exchange for their tablets or laptops while boarding their flights to the United States.

“For passengers that prefer not to stow their electronic devices in checked-in baggage during the flight, Turkish Airlines offers a special service that gives travellers to the United States and United Kingdom a safe and secure method of carrying their electronics in a special area in the cargo hold of the airplane. The devices may be used at the gate until boarding,” the airline said in a statement.

According to the statement, by continuously aiming to increase the passenger satisfaction, Turkish Airlines additionally offers high quality headphones to economy class passengers on long-haul flights.

“This new service will be effective immediately in all US flights, and for all other long-haul flights of Turkish Airlines as from May 2017. The passengers will feel more comfortable with this high quality headset, specially designed for long flight hours,” it said.

Turkish Airlines said it continuously improves its in-flight entertainment system – amongst other services – in order to make its passengers feel special throughout the entire flight.


“The comfortable headphones with much higher sound quality will allow the passengers to uninterruptedly enjoy our award-winning inflight entertainment system, Planet, that delivers thousands of hours of music and film experience,” it added.

Turkish Airlines passengers to enjoy special headsets

The Turkish Airlines is now offering a special headset to its economy class (EC) passengers on long-haul flights, reports ITRealms.

 This, the airline said, would help passengers to have a world leading high-tech entertainment experience.

ITRealms gathered that the airline revealed, the new service would kicked off with all United States flights as from March 30, 2017 and all other long haul flights of Turkish Airlines as from May, this year.

 A public statement made available to ITRealms by the Turkish Airlines, stressed that the passengers would feel more comfortable by experiencing this high quality headset, specially designed for long flight hours.

“By taking the advantage of this headset on long haul flights of the airline, the passengers will also be able to uninterruptedly enjoy the awarded in-flight entertainment system, planet, includes a wide variety of entertainment options for all preferences,” part of the statement read.


Further, Turkish Airlines said would continue to improve inflight offerings alongside other services to make its passengers feel more special and valued throughout the flight.

Turkish Airlines offers eXPhone service for roaming passengers

The Turkish Airlines is now offering "eXPhone" service for an uninterrupted communication during the flight, reports ITRealms.

Turkish Airlines, ITRealms gathered is the Europe’s Best Airline for the sixth consecutive years, said the revolutionary service, will redefine flight experience for its customers across the its over 200 destinations while on board.

As an extension of Wi-Fi and live TV availability on its Boeing B777 and Airbus A330 aircrafts, Turkish Airlines said it is being enabled through the initiative to offer a mobile internet connectivity by eXPhone to its guests.

Passengers on Turkish Airlines will begin to enjoy the service commencing from April 2017.

“By using this service, passengers will be able to send text messages (excluding voice messages), check their e-mails and browse internet (including social media platforms) with their own mobile phones,” the airline said in a statement.

According to the airline, the stages of the process for the usage of the service are two-pronged.

“First, the cabin crew will make an announcement to inform the passengers about the service’s current availability for on-board use, after the take-off.

“Second, provided that the “Data Roaming” mode is activated on passengers’ mobile phones, the exPhone service will automatically run, which will be used till the flight is ready for landing.”

The airline also confirmed that the service has been tested to offer communications service that allow its passengers to run their businesses and exchange communication with relatives and friends while on-board.

“The eXPhone service, which is offered in close cooperation with Panasonic and AeroMobile, has successfully been tested on-board during a flight with the participations of our relevant authorities, via one of our cabin attendant’ mobile phone.

“The eXPhone service will be billed by the passengers’ mobile phone operators, and the prices will vary depending on their individual roaming contracts. Passengers may find the details of this service in Turkish Airlines’ inflight magazine, SkyLife.”

Turkish Airlines has always been at the forefront of deploying technology to offer improved flight experience for its customers.

In December, 2016, the airline selected Panasonic Avionics Corporation’s (Panasonic) advanced eX1 inflight entertainment and communications (IFEC) system and Global Communication Services for its new fleet of narrow body aircraft.

The eX1 solution is an advanced narrow-body IFE system. Its uncompromising industrial design, high-definition display technologies and high fidelity audio create a home theater atmosphere that draws passengers into an immersive entertainment experience.

The system will include Panasonic’s unique Passenger Data Integration (PDI) service, which will allow Turkish Airlines to add higher levels of personalisation to its inflight experience.

The PDI will also allow Turkish Airlines to seamlessly recognize the travel preferences of their guests and recommend content, services and amenities specific that will enhance their experience both in flight and in their destination city.

Improved comforts await Nigerian passengers at the Turkish Airlines, reports ITRealms.

Also, Turkish Airlines disclosed that it has intensified efforts to further improve the travel experience of its passengers in Nigeria and across the world.

Offering travelers a warm Turkish welcome, the airline said that the Arrival Lounge is located on a 250-squaremeter area, the lounge can accommodate 38 people and is open from 5.00 am until 1.00 am.

“With all its practicality and convenience, the place is designed for comfort, allowing travelers access to all kinds of tools for managing their business, as well as abundant gastronomic options including world-famous Turkish cuisine.

“A library, latest editions of local and international magazines, newspapers and Wi-Fi access, are among other facilities. The visitors will also find relaxation areas, equipped with showers, dressing rooms and an ironing room with staff to attend their needs.

“This is a lounge with exclusive access for Turkish Airlines Business Class passengers arriving in Istanbul and Elite Plus members traveling in Economy Class,” the airline said.

Turkish Airlines Lounges now feature new wireless charging stations that let passengers charge their compatible mobile devices through power outlets located on the tables in the Lounge Istanbul while enjoying high-class services.

The airline statement also that said passengers will also be able to use these stations in Turkish Airlines’ Taksim Sales Office.

“Other services recently implemented by the airline to make overall journey easier for Nigerian travelers include the shuttle available between San Diego and Los Angeles (which passengers can book directly with the ticket number and their contact details.

The shuttle operates between San Diego and Los Angeles between set pick-up and drop-off points.

“For passengers departing out of Los Angeles: Passenger will be picked up at San Diego Zion Market parking lot (Address: 7655 Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92111). Drop-off location is LAX Airport Tom Bradley Terminal Departure level.

Turkish Airlines enhances safety with in-flight video

The Turkish Airlines has introduced in-flight video to enhance safety of passengers, reports ITRealms.

The airline said the deployment of this in-flight video is a demonstration of security and passengers protection during air transport operations.

Turkish Airlines, ITRealms gathered, has produced a new in-flight safety video, riding on latest High Definition (HD) technology, to improve the safety of its passengers in Nigeria and other countries of its operations.

According to the airline, the new video is featuring filmmaker and social media phenomenon Zach King.

ITRealms recalls that Turkish Airlines has been rated for six consecutive years as Europe’s best airline, according to Skytrax, flying to more countries than any other airlines.

Country Manager for Turkish Airlines in Nigeria, Mr. Tarkan Ince, said that with the significant growth in the number of first time or irregular travellers over the recent years, Turkish Airlines, chose to leverage illusions to improve the safety level on-board.

Ince explained that the main purpose of the video is to keep passengers attention high during the explanation of important safety procedures using the power of magic.

“For passengers from Nigeria and across other African countries and beyond, Turkish Airlines is offering a new proposition, which underscores the significance that we place on safety of passengers while onboard,” he said, stressing that they have always put safety first and it is the airline’s believe that this is one initiative that will delight customers to fly with their best airline.

Equally speaking, Chairman, Board and Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines, Mr. İlker Aycı said,  with safety being the number one priority at all levels of the airline, creating concise and engaging safety communications has become extremely important.

“Here at Turkish Airlines, we constantly strive to find the most effective and innovative ways to deliver excellent service and overachiever passenger expectations ensuring the highest level of security during all of our operations,” Aycı said.

ITRealms further gathered that watching the film, passengers are flipped between reality and illusion, with King bringing key aspects of inflight safety to life through his signature digital slight of hand tricks.
