The International Press Institute (IPI) Nigeria has announced its decision to establish an endowment prize at the University of Abuja (UniAbuja) in memory of its late Treasurer, Rafat Idris Salami, reports ITREALMS.The prize is intended to inspire students of the institution to uphold the core journalistic values of integrity, courage, and selfless service that the late Treasurer exemplified.

International Press Institute (IPI) Nigeria has noted with concern the arrest, detention and subsequent arraignment before a magistrate court in Bauchi of the publisher of WikkiTimes online newspaper, Mr. Haruna Mohammed and a reporter, Mr. Idris Kamal, by the police in Bauchi.The journalists claimed that they were physically assaulted while they were in detention.
