The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, has underscored that digitalisation is key driver in advancing financial inclusion, just as he canvassed stronger economic ties with the Middle East and the Nigerian diaspora community in the region.Speaking during a meeting with Talal Al-Humond, the Assistant Governor for Monetary Affairs, Saudi Arabia Central Bank – SAMA, on the sideline of the just-concluded inaugural Conference on Emerging Markets Economies organised by the Ministry of Finance, Saudi Arabia, and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Regional Office in Riyadh, Mr. Cardoso said there were lessons to be learned from Saudi Arabia in terms of infrastructural development and tourism.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has held a two-day strategic session for members of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting, preparatory to their first meeting under the tenure of Mr. Olayemi Cardoso as Governor, scheduled for Monday, February 26 and Tuesday, February 27, 2024.

Pending the confirmation of the National Assembly (NASS), the nominations are for a term of five years at the first instance for each of the offices.
