The competition culminated in a thrilling victory for the St. Joseph Group football team, who clinched the championship trophy and medals after a stellar display of teamwork and resilience on the pitch.
Following the successful conclusion of the annual parish event at the Dominican Field, Mafoloku, Lagos, leadership and guests praised the strong community spirit on display.
All the visiting and special guests, led by the Acting Deanery Coordinator Mr. Ekpe Nta Bassey, chief patron Innocent Emeh, special guest Chief Dominic Ajayi, and Catholic Women Organisation (CWO) president Mrs. Patricia Ibeanusi, warmly commended the parish CMO leadership under Ogbuefi Chinenyeze Remmy Nweke, KSM, for orchestrating such an impactful celebration of fitness and fellowship.
Speaking on the success of the outing, the host and Parish CMO Chairman emphasized that building stronger bonds through sports serves as a vital anchor for strengthening physical fitness, mental alertness, and unbreakable bonds of brotherhood among Christian men.
The leadership extended its profound gratitude to all match officials, referees, assistant referees, commentators, group patrons, and participating teams for maintaining high standards of fair play and safety throughout the competition.
The celebrations continue today with a special Thanksgiving Mass and monthly parish meeting, cementing a memorable weekend dedicated to faith, fitness, and community solidarity.
