The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has
announced the locations of registration centres for the Nationwide Continuous
Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, reports
According to the Commission in a press statement available to ITREALMS today, Thursday and endorsed by the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information & Voter Education Committee at INEC, Sam Olumekun, the CVR will resume on August 18, 2025, with online pre-registration, while in-person registration will commence on August 25, 2025.
The exercise will hold in 811 centres nationwide, comprising
774 Local Government, 37 State, and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) offices.
To facilitate easy identification of registration centres,
INEC is deploying an online CVR
Live Locator, which will go live on August 17, 2025.
The Commission has also uploaded a 38-page document
containing the addresses of the 811 in-person registration centres nationwide.
Dedicated telephone numbers have been assigned for each state to serve as Help
Desks for citizens requiring clarification.
Furthermore, INEC has received 151 letters of intent from
associations seeking registration as political parties, with eight new letters
received since the last update on July 23, 2025.
Also, INEC said it has commenced shortlisting associations that meet the requirements to proceed to the application stage, with details to be released after the August 16, 2025, bye-elections.
