The elites in Nigeria must unanimously agree about the fundamentals of the economy including the norms of the social system, Professor Yakubu Ochefu, has suggested.

Ochefu, the Secretary-General of the Committee of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU), said that the current state of the economy requires elite consensus; a phenomenon which most developed social formations have in common.

Nigeria’s premier deep-water oil and gas exploration and production company, Shell Nigeria Exploration, and production Company Limited (SNEPCo), says the scheduled turnaround maintenance of its offshore Bonga asset would be defined by safety as top priority.

SNEPCo’s Managing Director, Elohor Aiboni, gave this charge recently at a session with the chief executive officers of contractor companies participating in the Bonga TAM scheduled for October.
