The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun to oil its machineries for the forthcoming Anambra State governorship elections slated for Saturday, November 8, 2025, even as the party primaries will start from Thursday, March 20, this year, reports ITREALMS.The National Commissioner & Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Mr Sam Olumekun, disclosed this after the weekly meeting of the Commission, today, Thursday in Abuja.

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has tasked Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to extend their scrutiny to activities of Political Parties and State Independent Electoral Commissions (SIECs), in order to deepen democracy and enhance the conduct of elections in Nigeria.
He made the call when a coalition of civil society organisations, under the aegis of the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room led by its convener, Mr. Yinusa Z Ya’u paid a visit to the Commission’s Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday 4th September 2024.

Former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), just as he withdrew from the presidential contest, reports ITREALMS.Obi in a letter of resignation to the National Chairman of the PDP, Wadata Plaza Abuja, dated May 24, 2022 and personally signed by him and made available to ITREALMS, he said his resignation has been conveyed to his ward chairman at Agulu Ward 2, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, effective, Friday, May 20, 2022.

How Ernest Ndukwe emerged APGA Senate candidate for 2015, kicks off campaign

Ndukwe emerged the Senatorial candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance
(APGA) at the December 6, primaries, he has kicked-off campaign, reports ITRealms.
The party flag
bearer for Anambra South Senatorial District, Dr. Ndukwe, ITRealms gathered contested
against Dr Okey Udeh and Chief Maja Umeh at the primaries.
ITRealms also
gathered that out of the estimated 500 delegates, Ndukwe polled a staggering
344 votes, leaving the two other co-aspirants with 127 and 24 votes
respectively.
Equally, ITRealms,
Ndukwe, who is former Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has since embarked on grassroots campaign efforts
in preparation for the February elections, including fund raising to educate electorates at his
constituency on this important voting opportunity.
Contributions to aid Dr Ndukwe’s bid for the Senate, ITRealms further gathered, both in kind and
cash, his campaign organisation said is support for a
new dawn, quality representation and a breath of fresh air in the Senate.
