The Arole Oduduwa & Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II on Monday prescribed some African medicines as cure for ravaging Chinese Virus-19 also known as revealed that cure to the pandemic Coronavirus lies in the ability to explore the potentials of the alternative/natural medicine, reports ITREALMS.
Ooni Ogunwusi doubles as the Co-Chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria(NCTRN) made the disclosure while addressing newsmen at his Ile Oodua Palace, Ile Ife, emphasising that the Nigeria as a country and the world at large must look inward for alternative solution.
"A divine proclamation came out to the world last year June 6th 2019, during the World Ifa Festival - OTURA MEJI which foretold about the impending rage of this invisible pandemic war, but few heard us.
"Look at Cuba, a country that has a strong traditional ties with Nigeria, the kingdom of Ife in particular, they have not only defeated the Covid-19, but now rendering huge medical assistance to several countries across the world because they value their traditional heritage inherited from us here.
"As the spiritual head of Youruba race, I have a lot gathered for the use of mankind. I am also currently working with Yem Kem International (Alternative Medicine Expert) pharmaceutical company for the packaging and distribution of these alternative medications globally. I also challenge researchers both in Nigeria and abroad to make these natural herbs into clinical medicine and extract the vaccines from it.
"Necessity is the mother of innovation, we must create results from our current ways of life which is strange to us as people. For example, the stay at home policy of the government should be improved upon to enable people work from home irrespective of their geographical locations." Ooni Ogunwusi added.
While advocating that there are several positive sides to the pandemic, the Ooni noted that leaders especially those in the political class must rework the country's system with a view to enable Nigerians especially the youths to maximize their potentials.
"This is the first time in Nigeria that we will have so much money and other resources being expended on our health sector either as donations or budgetary. This in itself is a devine lesson that we must revive our health sector to satisfy everyone especially the poor and other vulnerable members of our society.
"Look at us now, nobody can leave his or her country across the world which implies that all parts of the world must be made habitable. We must all come together to make this country work, there is no perfect system anywhere in the world.
"Imagine how the world giant economies like that of the US and UK bowed and still bowing to coronavirus. The disease is not a respecter of anybody or any nation, it is a common enemy of the world that we must collectively combat and defeat," the Ooni noted.
The African foremost monarch equally thanked stakeholders across the country's private sector for their kind donations, urging then to do more as it will remain an undisputed legacy that they stood for the country and her people in this moment of global health and economic challenges.
In the same vain, the monarch urged Nigerians to adhere to the strict precautionary measures laid down by the state and Federal governments as well as the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control as the country struggle to end the pandemic.

InfoSecurity alacrity: Obadare prescribes CIA
The award-winning Chief Operating
Officer (COO) of Digital Encode Limited, Mr. Peter Adewale Obadare, has prescribed
what he described as the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability (CIA)
panacea to boost the information security readiness of every internet user,
especially in Nigeria, reports ITRealms.
Making this prescription at the
first-ever Cyber Security Master Class for Information and Communication
Technology (ICT) Journalists in the country, at the VCP Hotel, Victoria Island,
Lagos, last weekend, Obadare said this prescription has become imperative given
the number of both company and personal data that ought to be protected on
daily basis.
According to him, most of the
things Internet or data users cherish and worthy of protection are mainly
company and personal data as well as critical systems cutting across electronic
mail (email), network, file storage, and online services, to name a few.
Obadare also told ITRealms that within the aforementioned,
what makes them essential is the likely information exposure that could occur
when security breaches occur, in addition for users to be wary of malicious
editing, or Denial of Service (DoS) attacks.
He pointed out that with
the users being aware of confidentiality, integrity and availability of those
information exposures and attendant implications as well as the effect of
malicious codes or DoS, their effects could be well managed to a minimal point.
Obadare went on to define Information Security (IS) as the
protection of information and information systems from unauthorized access,
use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction in order to provide
confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Information security, he said, is achieved through implementing
technical, management, and operational measures designed to protect the
confidentiality, integrity and availability of information.
The goal of an IS programme, he told ITRealms, is to
understand, manage, and reduce the risk to information under the control of the
organization.
Pointing out that very often, security infringement happens
via insider threat, which he described as “Enemy by the water dispenser” which
paves the way for instance, for internal malicious users to get remote access
to email passwords of a person.
On the other hand, outsider threats, Obadare code-named ‘show
me the money’ tend to open-up a system for hackers to get access to company’s
application.
Whilst the combination of both outsiders with insiders
knowledge, he said, could pass for deal or no deal which leverages social
engineering.
He buttressed the danger of cybercrime on its cost to the
world which has been estimated to be in excess of $6 trillion annually by 2021
according to the Cybersecurity Ventures.
The 2017 Cyberthreat Defence Report, he said, showed that
security biggest obstacle is low security awareness of personnel.
“But when you do due diligence, and care what information
you share, hackers cannot hack you,” he said.
Obadare further shared some Digital Encode milestones
including the several awards on cybersecurity in 2017, whereas in 2015, the
company won the Global Cyberlympics as African Champion for the second time,
among others.

Obi prescribes tripartite solutions to recession
The immediate-past Governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi has prescribed
a tripartite solution to the Federal Government for Nigeria to get out of
economic recession, reports ITRealms.
Mr
Obi was a Guest Speaker at the 1st Annual Conference of the Guild of CorporateOnline Publishers (GOCOP) held on Thursday at Renaissance Hotel, Ikeja in
Lagos, and spoke to the theme "Sustaining growth through diversification
of the economy."
He contended that Nigerian economy is already diversified,
stressing that the non-oil sector is contributing about 80 per cent to the
nation's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), noting that the tragedy is that the oil
sector however accounts for 90 per cent of the nation’s foreign exchange
earnings.
The
three ways to put the economy back on the path of growth, he said, include that
government must as a matter of urgency embark on aggressive savings,
diversification of the economy towards manufacturing and lastly investment in
developmental education.
“Diversifying
our economy through manufacturing and investment in education is what we
require today to turn around our economy,” he said.
Describing
himself as a trader and businessman, Mr. Obi pointed out that by aggressive
savings, Nigeria will be able to get the resources to bring about micro
economic stability to the country, defend the currency and be able to attract Foreign
Direct Investment (FDI) and portfolio investments and unlock the resources to
invest in the deteriorated infrastructure.
Another Guest Speaker and Managing Director of the News Agency of
Nigeria, NAN, Mr Bayo Onanuga, charged GOCOP to come up with code of conduct
for online media practitioners.
He
also charged the leadership of the Guild to pursue capacity building for
members through workshops and seminars to broaden their knowledge.
The
NAN boss assured that his organisation would collaborate with GOCOP in
generating contents, not only text but videos and photographs.
On
his part, the keynote speaker, Prof Akinyemi Onigbinde, posited that we need to
restructure the polity before talking about diversification of the economy.
"Let
me say this and it is with all sense of responsibility, that the proponents of
this 'diversification' theory, with respect to the chronically ill Nigeria
economy, are not being honest.
"Indeed,
I dare say they are being mischievous, just as they insist on playing Nero
as our Rome prepares to go up in flames. Truth is, for Nigeria, it may well be
one-minute to midnight, if we continue to
ignore the ‘first principle’ in nation-building.
"So,
what is responsible for Nigeria’s arrested development, to put it in a counter
thesis to GOCOP request: Nigeria economy cannot enjoy a sustainable growth and
neither can it be diversified because there is even no basis for economic
growth.
"As
I had earlier suggested, what economy are we to diversify? And As I had also
insisted on, there can be no economy to be diversified, hence there will be no
growth as to speak of ‘sustainable growth.’
"But
let us, however, say that Nigeria will continue to remain in a state of
suspended animation, economically, so long as some sections of the Nigerian
nation space feel short-changed by the Nigeria political economy, due,
largely, to the operations of present structure of the Nigerian state.
"Truth
is, so long as the centre holds a ‘veto power’ over the economic activities of
Nigeria so-called federating units, so long will Nigeria manifest destiny
remain dormant," Prof Onigbinde said.
Representatives
of GOCOP key partners like FRSC, Mobil, NLNG, EFCC delivered goodwill messages
calling for sustained relationship while the GOC 81 Division of the Nigerian
Army, Major General PJ Dauke, presented paper on counter-insurgency.
At
the end of the one-day conference, the newly elected Executive Committee of
GOCOP was inaugurated under the leadership of Mr Dotun Oladipo, Publisher, The
Eagle Online.
