The Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON) has called for an urgent collaboration between key federal agencies to overhaul how investments in the telecommunications sector are tracked and reported, warning that current metrics distort the industry’s true financial health, reports ITREALMS.

In a press statement obtained by ITREALMS, signed by ALTON Chairman, Engr. Gbenga Adebayo, and Publicity Secretary, Sir Damian Udeh, the telecom body proposed a tripartite engagement involving the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has launched a comprehensive "strategic reset" of the Nigerian Content Consultative Forum (NCCF), reports ITREALMS.

The move is designed to transform the forum into a high-octane engine for policy intervention, information sharing, and localized capacity building within the oil and gas value chain.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Lagos Business School of Pan-Atlantic University are considering forging a partnership that will result in developing customised capacity building interventions and overhauling of existing training courses offered by the LBS to address critical areas of needs of the Commission’s human capital development.

The Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of the NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta, emphasized the imperative of such collaboration during a visit of an LBS delegation led by the School’s Director, Executive Education, Victor Banji, to the Commission’s Head Office in Abuja recently.
