DELIVER Nigeria to boost smallholder farmers’ livelihoods, improve diets - ITREALMS

The DELIVER Nigeria is now officially underway, with the objective of enhancing the livelihoods of smallholder vegetable farmers and promoting healthier dietary habits in Nigeria’s Kaduna and Kano states. 

The full name of this three-year project is “DEcent LIVelihoods for small-scale producers delivered through Economic and Resilient food systems in Nigeria”, and it is being run by the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), East-West Seed Knowledge Transfer Foundation (EWS-KT), and Wageningen University & Research (WUR).

The Insuretech Pula has sealed deal with the African Risk Capacity Limited (ARC Ltd) to deliver best-in-class agriculture index insurance products to protect African farmers from climatic risks, reports ITREALMS.
Every farming season, African farmers are exposed to a wide range of climate risks including drought, excessive rainfall, pests and diseases, and several other perils that negatively affect their yields.
