President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done something that should worry every Nigerian, whether you support him or not. He has taken two of the most sensitive public offices in this country and turned them into branches of his re-election campaign.Let me be plain about what I mean.
Dr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote is the Director-General of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC). This agency holds the fingerprints, photographs, addresses, and personal records of over 136 million Nigerians. It is a goldmine of sensitive data.

Institutional Integrity @Stake: Why regulatory, identity chiefs must decline partisan appointments by Remmy Nweke - WeekendDigits@ITREALMS
Preamble:Can public trust survive when those sworn to protect citizen data and revenue lead political campaigns? REMMY NWEKE in this edition of WeekendDigits@ITREALMS exposes the dangerous breach of neutrality by NIMC, NITDA, and FIRS chiefs. Failure to decline these appointments risks legal action and irreversibly crumbles public faith in government impartiality.
When the lines between state administration and political campaign machinery blur, the foundation of public trust crumbles. The recent inclusion of chief executive officers of non-partisan regulatory, revenue, and identity agencies, specifically the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS); in presidential campaign council directorates represents a profound conflict of interest that demands immediate corrective action.
