A new documentary film by leading edtech nonprofit Ingressive for Good, "Finding Tech: Against All Odds," will have its premiere screening in partnership with the U.S. Consulate on April 20 at the American Corner in Ikeja, Lagos.

The film highlights the personal journeys of youths in Nigeria who have faced and surmounted hurdles in their lives as a result of lack of access to resources, opportunities, and finance. It zooms in on the transformational journey of some young Africans who found tech after their dreams were dashed. It is a tale of dreams, struggles, access, and hope.

The United States' Commercial Service has hosted a seminar for cyber security professionals in the Nigerian banking, telecoms and FinTech sectors to the services and opportunities provided by the American software company SAS.

In his opening remarks, the US Consul General, Mr. Will Stevens, emphasized the importance of increasing collaboration between the United States and Nigeria on cybersecurity to help secure the digital economy now and into the future.

The U.S. government is strongly committed to supporting women’s economic empowerment and gender equality through thoughtful and innovative business development programs that enable Nigerian businesswomen to achieve their full economic potential.

On Thursday, a diverse group of 250 women graduated from the fourth cohort of the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) and joined 520 other Nigerian businesswomen who have benefitted from the program.
