The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) has expressed its profound sadness and heartfelt condolences to its Emeritus President and current Enugu State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Dr. Malachy Agbo, following the transition of his mother, Mrs. Laurita Nwakaego Agbo (née Ortuanya), reports ITREALMS.
The matriarch passed away at the Niger Foundation Hospital, Enugu, on Friday, May 8, 2026, after a brief illness.
In a formal condolence letter addressed to the Commissioner, GOCOP President Danlami Nmodu, mni, and General Secretary Sufuyan Ojeifo, described the late Mrs. Agbo as a woman of exceptional character whose life was a masterclass in humility and service to humanity.
"We join you, your family, and the people of the Ohodo and Amufi communities in mourning the loss of a matriarch whose life was defined by an unwavering commitment to the service of God and her fellow man," the statement read.
The Guild noted that as a devoted Catholic and compassionate mother, Mrs. Agbo was a pillar of strength, particularly through her philanthropic activities and community-centered initiatives that touched countless lives in Enugu State.
The leadership of GOCOP emphasized that while her passing leaves a profound vacuum, the enduring impact of her kindness and motherly counsel remains a source of solace.
