Rubitec Academy, AMDA train 20 renewable engineers, entrepreneurs In Lagos

Rubitec Academy in collaboration with Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria (REAN), and Association of Mini-Grid Developers in Africa (AMDA), has trained 20 renewable engineers, technicians and entrepreneurs, reports 
ITREALMS.
Participants in the training were drawn from REAN membership, and representatives of renewable energy companies affiliated with REAN such as Pragmatic Technologies, Acob lighting, Azuri Technologies, Lex Environmental, Ashipa Electric Ltd to name a few.
The training, which held weekend at GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, was sponsored through partnership arrangement between, Rubitec, REAN and LONGi solar, a world leading Solar manufacturing company based in Shangai China.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rubitec Solar, Mr. Bolade Soremekun, said Rubitec Academy has been delivering training among Nigerian renewable energy youths since 2017 till date.

“We have trained over 300 Nigerians, female and male in different partnership agreements with government agencies, Nigerian and multi-national groups,” he said.

The President REAN, Dr. Segun Adaju, said shortage of manpower is a key challenge faced by the industry and the training would bridge the gap. “We are delighted in this partnership because this initiative is a long-term goal of supporting the Nigerian and African market. We hope that through this partnership we would continue the good work done previously in advancing the skills and careers of young Nigerians in the industry”.

Mr. Oyedokun Toheeb, an engineer with Eclipse Power commended LONGi for the opportunity adding that the Knowledge and skills would be ineffective without constant improvement through training and other youth empowerment programmes.

He stated that the training has not just helped to improve his exposure to renewable energy but has in many ways contributed to human capacity development, such as skills and knowledge that were learnt so far within the little time frame.

Toheeb explained that the training has built competence and increased entrepreneurial knowledge of these youths in the field of renewable energy, as participants are proficient in the design, maintain, trouble-shoot activities in the field of mini-grid design and installation and to improve access to clean and reliable energy.

Engineer Matthew Olanrewaju, a consultant and one of the facilitators with Rubitec Academy, noted that the training programme featured temperature co-efficient, power tolerance, efficiency of the solar panel, solar panel technology among others.

He encouraged the trainees to always buy all solar products from trusted brands such as LONGi from accredited distributors and other trusted dealers.

“The training has also exposed us to a lot of valuable things about LONGi Solar, which has made us eager to see LONGi Solar products in Nigeria.

One of the trainees, Engineer Akande, Habeebllahi Olaide stated the training has been of immense benefit to him as it has been able to increase his knowledge and shown him opportunity in the sector, sharing ideas and networking with other fellow trainees.

“This type of training is highly encouraged for capacity development in the renewable energy sector of the country and I highly recommend Rubitec Academy for any individual who is willing to attend this kind of training.”
