Taylor lauds RASCOM’s launch of ComSat

Chief Executive of Kemilinks International, Mr. Shola Taylor has lauded the recently launched Communications Satellite (ComSat) also known as RASCOM, reports AMAKA UGWUEZUMBA.

Speaking on the development, Mr. Taylor, a well-known telecom expert, said that the launch heralds consolidation of successful dedication of communications satellite for Africa.

A press statement made available to Champion Infotel and endorsed by Mr. Segun George, quoted Mr. Taylor as saying that the launch was a timely New Year gift for the continent.

Champion Infotel recalled that on December 21, 2007, RASCOM by Arianespace led by Dr. Jones Killimbe, which took 32- minute long flight.

Taylor who recently led over 600 experts across Africa on telecommunications study remarked “telecom community is a new year gift to Africa.”

He however disagreed with the motion that RASCOM will only serve as a competitor to Nigeria comsat its will improve a new optical fibres system been laid across the continent.

“This is a great achievement for Africa, Congratulations to you all. Assembly of parties, board of directors, management and all the staff of RASCOM for their great job,” Taylor said.

Equally, he said that the African Submarine Cable System compliments on connecting Europe with West African countries through the catalytic effort of the New Economic Partnership for Africa Development (NEPAD).
