Justice on Hold: FG files for 22-month extension to challenge landmark Journalist safety ruling - ITREALMS

The Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) has approached the Court of Appeal, asking for an "extension of time" to challenge a landmark judgment that ordered the government to investigate and prosecute the killers of journalists, reports ITREALMS.

This 22-month delay centers on a motion filed on December 23, 2025, by Mr. A.B. Mohammed on behalf of the AGF, which seeks to bypass the standard legal window for appeals. Under Section 24(2)(a) of the Court of Appeal Act, the government had exactly three months to appeal the February 16, 2024, judgment delivered by Justice Inyang Ekwo.

The government of the Czech Republic has restarted the implementation of the Domain Name System Security Extension (DNSSEC) and Internet Protocol version Six (IPv6) in public administration, reports ITREALMS.

Confirmed! Emefiele bows to old note pressures, obtains extension approval till February 10

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele has bowed to pressure as he took avalanche of complaints to his principal, the Nigeria’s president, General Muhammadu Buhari, retired at his residence on Sunday in Daura, Katsina State to obtain approval for extension for swapping of old Naira notes, reports 
ITREALMS.
Speaking after a closed-door meeting with Buhari, ITREALMS gathered from close sources to CBN that Emefiele revealed the new deadline is now February 10, 2023.

PVC: INEC decries empty chairs @Lagos office, Tuesday, urges leveraging of extension - ITREALMS

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has decried the empty chairs at its Lagos office on Tuesday, meant for  prospective registrants of Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs), reports ITREALMS.

Confirming this to ITREALMS, the Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman, Mr. Rotimi Oyekanmi, lamented that as at midday, Tuesday, the set of chairs for prospective registrants were empty and there is no potential registrants in sight at the state headquarters, off  Hubert Macaulay way, Lagos Mainland.
