Nigeria's Folashade Adekeye has emerged as the Chairperson, Forum of the Directors of Oil & Gas Training & Vocational Education Institutes of the African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO).

Adekeye, who is the Director, NNPC Academy, took over from the former chairperson, Mr. Abdelkader Guenone, the Managing Director of the Algerian Petroleum Institute (API), during the second meeting of the Forum, in Abuja, at the weekend.

The National Working Committee of the Labour Party (LP) has appointed Nollywood Actress, Hilda Dokubo as the chairperson of its three-man steering committee in Rivers state, reports ITREALMS.

The National Chairman, LP, Barrister Julius Abure, in a letter to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) dated Thursday, March 9, 2023, listed Philip Loveday as secretary, and Gogo Wellington as publicity secretary of the new committee.

Awolowo family to honour HID with foundation

The Obafemi Awolowo Foundation (OAF) has concluded arrangements for the institution of a sister Foundation in honour of its chairperson and Yeye Oodua, HID Awolowo,who recently departed  this world, reports ITRealms.

The Executive Director of Awolowo Foundation, Dr. O. Awolowo-Dosumu, disclosed this in a press statement made available to ITRealms, saying that the organization to be known as HID Awolowo Foundation (HAF)would soon be inaugurated.

Dosumu also said thatthe new foundation will serve as a platform to celebrate and commemorate in perpetuity the outstanding contributions of Mama HID Awolowo to family values, entrepreneurship and perseverance in the face of adversity.

ITRealmsequally gathered, the Foundation will take no great insight into what she stood for and appreciate the synergy between the exemplary values that Mama stood for and the legacy of the sage, Pa Obafemi Awolowo, from which the Foundation has derived its core mandate and competencies.

“It is pertinent to recall Mama’s fortitude and exemplary forte in keeping the faith both at a time when her husband was unjustly persecuted by political authorities and in the years since the sage passed on,” Dosumu said.

 Recalling that HID’s business acumen, organizational intelligence and hard work stood her in good stead throughout her remarkable life.

“It is in recognition of these virtues and the need to underline the careers of role models and visionaries in a morally adrift generation that the HID Awolowo Foundation is being instituted under the aegis of the Obafemi Awolowo Foundation,” Dosunmi emphasized.

ITRealms gathered that HID will be buried o November 25, 2015, when she will have turned 100years.
