The Director General of the National Oil Spillage Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA), Engr. Chukwuemeka Woke, along with his senior management team, conducted a critical assessment visit to the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) in Port Harcourt.

This urgent visit aimed to evaluate SPDC's comprehensive efforts in managing the recent oil spill incident in Bonny, which subsequently affected the Oyorokot community in Andoni Local Government Area.

The National Oil Spill Detection Response Agency (NOSDRA) is partnering a United Kingdom-based non-governmental organization, the Stakeholder Democracy Network (SDN), to firm up commitment to consolidate the interest of clean and sustainable environmental management in Nigeria’s petroleum industry, reports ITREALMS.

The Executive Director of SDN, Adam Heal made this known during his team's courtesy visit to the Director-General/Chief Executive of NOSDRA, Engr. Chukwuemeka Woke, in the agency’s headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.

The Director General and CEO of the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA), Engineer Chukwuemeka Woke has put oil companies on notice, tasking them to comply with environmental regulations or face the full force of the law.

Speaking during a familiarization visit to the Port Harcourt Zonal headquarters in Rivers State on Monday, Woke, while reacting to some of the challenges faced by the Agency in the Zone said as an agency established by Act of law, NOSDRA represents the Federal Government and has a sacred mandate to regulate the oil industry's environmental impact and will not tolerate any form of non-compliance or disregard for regulations.

The newly appointed Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Oil Spillage, Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA), Engr. Emeka Woke, has reiterated commitment to align the agency with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, reports ITREALMS.

Speaking during a meeting with management staff at the agency's headquarters, Engr. Woke emphasized his mandate to refocus, redirect, and revitalize NOSDRA to positively impact communities affected by oil spills.
