Export made easy @Trade and Export Promotion Academy by Reuben Kalu - ITREALMS
Commentary@ITREALMS ... making leadership SENSE with digital news!
Export is the sale of goods or services from a seller country to a buyer country, and it has the important effect of improving the economy of the selling country. A lot of people have believed that exporting involves taking some products and putting them on a plane or ship and wishing that nothing happens to it. They have no idea how to prepare the produce according to the requirement of the buyer as well as the relevant paper work needed for customs and other agencies. This has led to the seizure of thousands of goods at entry points into the USA and other countries, leading to huge losses to the exporter.

Essentially the key goal of export is to improve the economy of the seller country. That's the reason the government of the developing economy should take export seriously. As a business owner, there's need to focus on getting yourself into exporting. You've to do everything as much as possible, because as a business owner, export has the potential to improve the life of your business, because if your business is rich, it has the impact of doing so much for you. It's unfortunate that a lot of people underestimate export.

Igwe Ezenwa: Made of a standard by Mbazulike Amaechi - ITREALMS
Tribute@ITREALMS:
Excerpts from tribute to HRH Igwe Peter Ezenwa MFR by first republic Minister, Chief Mbazulike Amaechi, on his final Ofala recently in Oba Idemili LGA, Anambra State."One significant thing I will say that many people did not know is that the first indigenous airline that was to run in Nigeria was known as Standard Airways, this airways was formed in 1966 by a company formed by Igwe Peter Ezenwa, from Oba, On the board were Joe Nwankwu, from Abagana, Edward Ebo from Ezinifite, all of Anambra State, John Anyaehie from Nkwerre, in Imo State, and my humble self, Mbazulike Amechi, the five of us formed the company and then acquired two brand new planes .
We had our four pilots, Nnachi, John and Emma Ngwu, and Felix Ofor who was to be the General Manager of the airline, but just about the time for it to take off, the crisis of military take over erupted in the North and the Planes were on the way for delivery to us, in fact the bank handling the transaction was to allow them be flown from the United States, but when the news of the war broke out in 1967 the insurance company cabled the cancellation of the aircrafts, that they will not be able to cover the cost and risk of aircraft being flown into a war area. So we asked the manufacturers to take the two Planes back to their country and hold on for us for six months thinking the war will end in six months and they held on for six months but the war did not end in one year and so we asked for the refund for the cost of the aircraft and they deducted some money and then refunded and deposited the money at ACB, in London.
However, when the money was deposited there in London, sometime in 1969 at the peak of the war, Odumegwu Ojukwu wrote to us as Biafrans, that we should surrender the foreign exchange to Biafran government, that when the war ends the government will refund us, so we held a meeting and did as he requested and we allowed the government to take over the whole money in ACB London and the war ended the way it ended and we lost everything."

help online retailers bring African-made products to the US and global market,
reports ITRealms.
The site offers
items from the continent’s most talented designers and artisans from a variety

Until today, African craftspeople have been isolated from global customers due to distance, fear of not receiving overseas payments, and complex shipping requirements. Customers who wished to purchase products directly from African artisans faced obstacles regarding accessibility of items, authenticity and validation of the product, uncertainty of delivery, high delivery costs, and payment security.
Marketplace Africa was created to help artisans sell on a global stage and simplify the ability to buy directly from African craftspeople and small enterprises. Powered by MallforAfrica’s award-winning patented e-commerce platform and payment system, MarketplaceAfrica.com’s global consumers can now shop directly from African businesses of all sizes and have the products shipped to their home with confidence.
DHL will manage all logistics services as their e-commerce delivery solutions are designed with small businesses in mind and provide the speed of delivery that customers expect. With the world’s leading logistics company behind it, Marketplace Africa will provide craftspeople and customers order verification, fast delivery, and shipment labeling and packaging services. Hennie Heymans, CEO for DHL Express Sub Saharan Africa adds, “We are thrilled to be a part of this innovative e-commerce solution for African artisans. DHL is a facilitator of global trade and if we can improve connectivity and accessibility to global markets for local business, this will go a long way in helping small businesses grow. We’ve been in Africa since 1978, so have seen first-hand, the huge opportunities that cross-border trade offers to local businesses. This is truly an exciting time for African businesses.”
The Africa Made Product Standards (AMPS) is used to ensure that the highest quality products are being sold on the Marketplace Africa platform. It provides consumers with the assurance that products meet an international standard in quality. All products are crafted with the utmost care by an African artisan.

Lai Mohammed denies ‘ban’ on Nigerian films, music video made abroad
The Minister of
Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has denied pronouncing ban on all
music videos and films to be produced in abroad for Nigeria market,
reports ITRealms.
''I didn't say that
henceforth, all music videos and films will be produced in Nigeria, or
that the production of music videos or films outside Nigeria will be
banned,” he asserted.
The
Special Assistant (SA) to Hon. Minister of Information and Culture, Mr. Segun
Adeyemi in a press statement made available to ITRealms, Wednesday in Lagos, quoted the Lia Mohammed denying the above story
perception making a round on social media.
“All I said was that if
a programme is designated as a Nigerian (local) content programme, we will
amend the Code to ensure that it is produced in Nigeria,'' he said,
adding, ''On that, there is no going back.''
He insisted that any
programme consumed by Nigerians must be produced in Nigeria, stressing that the
government's decision on any programme meant for Nigerians must be produced in
Nigeria, was not to develop the economy of other countries at the expense
of the Nigerian economy.
The nation’s Creative Industry, he said, has
potential of creating 1 million jobs in three years would not be
realized if jobs meant for Nigerians are being exported to other countries
under the guise of producing, in other countries, programmes to be
consumed in Nigeria.
The Minister recalled
how his office was bombarded with calls from concerned Nigerians when the
last edition of the ''Big Brother Naija'' was produced in South Africa,
saying he subsequently directed the National Broadcasting Commission
to investigate the circumstances surrounding the controversy.
''Following the
findings, we decided to amend the relevant sections of the Nigeria
Broadcasting Code to prevent a repeat of that development. We are now in
the process of doing that, so that anyone who intends to produce a reality
show or similar programmes for Nigerians cannot take the production of
such shows outside Nigeria.
''Nigerians are a very
proud and resourceful people, and we are sure that no Nigerian will be
against a decision to prevent the jobs that can be done in Nigeria by Nigerians
from being exported to other countries,'' he said.
In a related
development, Alhaji Mohammed has said the Broadcasting Code is also being
amended to help develop the local football league.
''This (amendment) is
not just about the Creative Industry. We are also going to ensure that the
NBC Code is amended in a manner that if any company in Nigeria today
invests a million dollars in promoting or supporting any (football) team
or league outside Nigeria, I want the Broadcasting Code to be amended to
the effect that it will not allow that programme to be aired unless that
company supports the Nigerian League with a percentage that will not be
less than 30 per cent of what was spent.
''This is because we
cannot continue to develop the economies of the other parts of the world
from the sweat of Nigerians and at the expense of the Nigerian economy,''
the Minister said.
