The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) is mandated to make available in the Nigerian market the primary and intermediate capital products required for machine and equipment design, fabrication, and mass production to provide an enabling environment for sustainable industrialization of the country.
The agency, established in 1992, continues to make progress in Nigeria’s technological advancement, driving home-grown innovation and improving manufacturing capabilities. While playing this role, NASENI has successfully developed more than 150 innovative products as well as prototypes bolstered by its Development Institutes and Centres, thus contributing to fostering excellence in science, engineering technology and manufacturing.
The Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, unveiled a set of new NASENI products, developed in collaboration with technical partners, at a media briefing at the Agency’s headquarters in Abuja.
The products displayed by the EVC/CEO on Thursday, included NASENI 300 Watts LED Solar Street Lamp; NASENI Laptop, NASENI Lithium battery, NASENI solar irrigation pumps, and a NASENI Smartphone.
The Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer (EVC/CEO) of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu has assured the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) that the agency would deliver on its mandate of transforming Nigeria’s technology and innovation landscape.
The EVC/CEO stated this at the opening ceremony of a two-day staff training of NASENI by the Bureau, led by its Director-General, Mr. Dasuki Ibrahim Arabi for the mandatory deployment of Self-Assessment Tools (SAT) for service delivery at the Agency’s Headquarters in Abuja, on Monday January 12, 2024.
Halilu reaffirmed the commitment of the Agency in fulfilling its mandate by maintaining a steadfast focus on NASENI 3Cs principles of Collaboration, Creation, and Commercialization through harnessing the power of technology, human skills and talents to deliver remarkable benefits to Nigeria on multiple fronts.
The President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Khalil Suleiman Halilu as the new Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), reports ITREALMS.
With this, Halilu replaced Dr. Bashiru Gwandu who was appointed by the immediate-past President, General Mohammed Buhari, retired, on May 12, 2023 as the EVC/CEO of NASENI.
