In an official statement released in Abuja on Monday, GOCOP Publicity Secretary, Ms. Kemi Yesufu, confirmed that other key public entities backing the conference include the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Bank of Industry (BoI), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
From the private sector, prominent brands rallying behind the Guild include TAJBank, Emadeb Energy, Setraco Limited, Sovereign Trust Insurance, and Nestlé Nigeria Plc.
The milestone event will hold at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, located at 38 to 40 Isaac John Street, Ikeja GRA, Lagos. The central theme for this year's gathering is “2027 Elections: Trust, Transparency and Shared Responsibilities.”
The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan, SAN, will deliver the keynote address. Dr. Olisa Agbakoba, SAN, Founding Partner of Olisa Agbakoba Legal (OAL) and former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), will serve as the conference chairman.
A distinguished panel of discussants will examine the roles of state institutions, political actors, security forces, civil society, and the media ahead of the 2027 general elections. The panellists comprise CP Abayomi Shogunle, Commissioner of Police for Election Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation at Force Headquarters, Abuja; Prof. Tayo Popoola, Head of the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Lagos; Adaora Onyechere Sydney-Jack, Creative Director of Gender Agenda and Founder of WEWE Network Afrique; and Lanre Arogundade, Executive Director of the International Press Centre.
