Anambra deepens digital reforms, eyes top ranking in ease of doing business - ITREALMS

The Anambra State government has reaffirmed commitment to building a tech-driven and business-friendly environment, with Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo's administration leading the charge, reports ITREALMS.

The State Government recently hosted the maiden State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER) technical session and statewide town hall meeting on July 8, 2025, at the International Conference Center in Awka.

The event, part of the nationwide tour by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), brought federal reform champions face-to-face with state officials, private sector leaders, and the business community. 

Governor Soludo, represented by Deputy Governor Dr. Onyeka Ibezim, welcomed the PEBEC team and stakeholders, emphasizing that Anambra's business reforms are deliberate and data-driven.

Governor Soludo reaffirmed Anambra's commitment to ongoing, measurable reforms grounded in technology, planning, and accountability. 


The state currently ranks 7th nationally and leads the South East in ease of doing business. Princess Zahra Mustapha Audu, DG of PEBEC, described the SABER program as a transformative partnership designed to help states implement global standards and create easier, more transparent business environments.

The State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake, emphasized the importance of deliberate and responsive government reforms, given that over 98% of Anambra's wealth is held by the private sector. 

The panel discussion and town hall meeting highlighted Anambra's digital initiatives, including the ANAMGIS (Anambra Geographic Information System), which digitizes land processes; Grievance Redress Mechanism, which swiftly addresses investor concerns;
Adoption of the .ng country code Top Level domain name to standardize official digital communications.

In addition to expansion of fiber ducts to enable 5G connectivity; Solution Lens, a civic engagement platform designed to deepen citizen participation and transparency

These reforms, ITREALMS  gathered were aimed at enhancing transparency, position Anambra as a smarter, investor-friendly state, and strengthen its position as a modern hub where businesses can invest, scale, and thrive.

As Anambra prepares for the next PEBEC evaluation, the government and stakeholders have reiterated their resolve to keep reforms measurable, digital-led, and investor-focused.
