#OccupyLekkiTollGate protest, citizen Idris writes Buhari over violence - ITREALMS

ITREALMS ... making leadership SENSE with digital news!

The Saturday peaceful protest is a direct reflection of government leaders' blatant decision to ignore their citizens' increased demand for freedom, justice and peace. It saddens my heart to see how unarmed Nigerians were being arrested and treated as criminals just because they demanded for a good leadership.

With a sense of humility, Mr. Muhammadu Buhari, do you deserved to be regarded as Mr. President? Indeed NO, you never worth such.

Mr Buhari, you've violated Nigeria citizens' right to protest and I demand quick release of the arrested protesters and furthermore ban the use of excessive force by law enforcement (Police). The usage of arrest, threats on peaceful Nigerian protesters is a direct attack on their right as a global citizen and only continue and strengthens a system of corruption that benefits people with privilege and in power.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. Which states that the protection of "equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is a foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world."

When a system is corrupt, Nigerians are not meant to keep mute, what do you expect? We all have to speak out and demonstrate our views on your unlawful practice and bad style of governance. We have had enough of All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Nigerians are suffering, hardship beckons every day by day, currently on the streets of Lagos in our beloved country, peacefully and genuinely, patriotic citizens demonstrated their grievances without any form of weapons and the Nigeria Police added more insult to injury by threatening our inalienable right to peaceful protest.

Mr Buhari, you've further hardened our collective resolve as we anticipate more bullets from you under this sweltering sun, rain dance, and freezing nights. Who can see deeper? For it takes the deep to call for the deep.

Mr. Buhari, right from the year 2002 when you vied for the number one office in the land, we, the LAZY YOUTH, had been your unalloyed supporters/voters and ardent admirers. But sadly, not anymore sir, as your disappointingly nepotistic government’s policies are daily sending us to early graves, even after the #EndSARS brutality. We may have been lazily deficit in provocative mental thoughts over the years, complacently allowing both APC and PDP corrupt governments hemorrhage us for long. But, certainly, not anymore.

Arrested protesters are frustrated with the endless cycles of International Monetary Fund (IMF) enslavement of Nigeria, bad leadership, endemic poverty, grand corruption, and nationwide insecurity that have ruled the country all our lives. We are not getting the quality of education that sets us up for life, We are not guaranteed quality healthcare, and our lives are quite easily low-priced. Overall, we have very slim chances of upward mobility.

The entire Nigerians are so fed up with evil leadership that use our sweat and blood to nourish their gluttonous selves. Our protest is about a dead-end leadership that has no agenda for social flourishing. It is about over 150 million Nigerians in extreme poverty. It is about we, the abandoned youths, that is finally done with circling the same mountainous incompetence and mediocrity, while all that gets our leaders’ attention is swinging elections of the rubber stamp and attendant self-enrichment across political party lines. Enough, when do our own lives finally get to start?

Mr Buhari, what does it take setting up a panel to understand our disenchantment, as we, the youths, are finally tired of multi-generational dysfunctionality. We are fed up! We need to finally start living and not merely existing.

Lastly Sir, you can also write your name in the sand of time and put your integrity to test because surely, posterity will judge you.

For now, I summit temporarily. Aluta Continua!!! Victoria Aserta!!!
