The Ogun State chapter
of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), has lauded Information Technology (IT)
professionals, especially Messrs Yele Okeremi and Niyi Yusuf, for their
outstanding roles in the today Nigeria, reports ITRealms.
Mr. Okeremi, ITRealms
gathered is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of Precise
Financial Systems (PFS), while Mr. Yusuf is the Managing Director of Accenture
Nigeria.
According to the Ogun
State NCS, chairman, Dr. Bukola Onashoga, the “recognition is in respect of the
benchmark the individuals have set for IT excellence, leadership and vision
actualization among IT industries and the community.”
He pointed out that under
the leadership of Okeremi, PFS handled cheque truncation exercise for Nigeria
Inter-Bank Settlement System [NIBSS] and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN),
which has ensured that cheque clearing, is seamless. Aside, one of the
company’s products, Clirec, is the foundation of accurate reconciliation in the banking sector;
as 12 banks in Nigeria, 46 institutions in other sectors of the national
economy, and over 34 institutions in Africa deployed the solution.
Onashoga also noted
that at Accenture, Mr. Yusuf occupied a big position in the IT space and has
deployed IT to achieve success for several projects and systems improvement. He
has managed the implementation and delivery of many turnkey projects for
clients in various industries spanning manufacturing, oil and gas, banking,
insurance and public sector.
