Many car owners or users have likely encountered the sign: "Cars Parked At Owners' Risk" prominently displayed at parking lots or spaces. 

This phrase often raises questions about its legal implications. What happens if your car is damaged, burgled, or even stolen? Who bears responsibility? Do you have enforceable rights or remedies under the law, or are you left to bear the loss?

The Nigerian economy depends largely on hydrocarbons. Yet, in the wake of the Russian-Ukrainian war and the subsequent energy crisis that gripped European countries due to a reduction in gas supply from Russia, Nigeria found itself ill-prepared to seize the opportunity presented by the surge in demand for natural gas. 

Despite possessing more than 200 trillion cubic feet of natural gas reserves, Nigeria failed to capitalize on the unprecedented rise in global gas demand. This lack of foresight and inadequate investments have significant implications for the nation's energy sector and its economic development.

1.00   BACKGROUND

The Conference of the British Methodist Church announced Wednesday 30th June 2021 that same-sex couples will be allowed to get married on its premises. This followed debates on the topic at the Methodist Conference where the proposals to allow same-sex marriages were passed with 254 votes in favour and 46 against.

This follows in the footsteps of the Church of England which in Britain allows Same Sex Marriage in accordance with their statutory environment. It is instructive to note that for some Provinces of the Church of England this is not the case, as exemplified by the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) which stoutly rejected Same Sex Marriages and has rejected communion with mother church on these grounds exemplified in their non attendance of Lambeth Conferences to date.
