The Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has extended warm birthday greetings to his predecessor, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, as the former governor turned 68, reports ITREALMS.

This is coming despite their differing political affiliations, as Governor Adeleke lauded Aregbesola's dedicated service to Osun State and Nigeria.

The Executive Governor of Osun state, Senator Ademola Adeleke has congratulated former Governors of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, David Adeleke (Davido) and other indigenes of Osun who bagged different national honours awards as conferred by President Muhammadu Buhari, reports ITREALMS.

Spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, in a press statement available to ITREALMS, the Governor noted that the award is a recognition of their noble and immense contributions to the growth and development of Osun state and Nigeria in general.

Osun LG election: HDP cautions Aregbesola

The Osun State Chapter of Hope Democratic Party (HDP) has urged the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) to tell the people of the state of Osun how much they have budgeted for the election, reports ITRealms.

The group also wanted to know the total amount received from state governor, Gov. Rauf Aregbesola for the conduct of their proposed forthcoming local government election.

HDP in a press statement made available to ITRealms and endorsed by the Osun State Chairman, Mr. Wole Adedoyin and state secretary, Mr. Tijani Lukman after the stakeholders meeting in Osogbo, last weekend.

As said by them, “We hope our governor is not copying governor Abiola Ajimobi constituted OYSIEC members, fake stakeholders meetings for political parties and at the end told them there was no fund in the coffin of the state.

Adedoyin further advised Dr. Otunba Segun Oladitan-led OSIEC Committee to emulate INEC who before any election would publish and update the general public on how much such election would cost.
