The board chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Chief Idris Olorunnimbe , has expressed a sense of standardized excellence regarding the progress made by Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) in the country, reports ITREALMS.

Speaking after a recent facility tour in Lagos, which took him to MTN Communications, Glo, Airtel and Open Data, he declared “Having toured this facility, I think I speak for everyone at the NCC when I say that the overwhelming feeling is pride.”

The Chairman, who was accompanied by some board members and chairman, Association of Licenses Telecoms Operators (ALTON), Engr. Gbenga Adebayo, emphasized that the commission is moving past fragmented support toward a coordinated national framework.

“On behalf of the Commission, we recommit our support to ensure that all stakeholders in this industry receive the backing they need to thrive and grow. This sector is a critical contributor to our everyday lives,” Olorunnimbe said, confirming that the unescapable digital fate of the nation rests on these very foundations.

Addressing the uncrossable chasms that often exist between operational needs and administrative approvals, the NCC Chairman promised a new standard of administrative agility. Regarding planning approvals and operational challenges, he assured that the NCC will provide the necessary support to ensure progress continues without standard bureaucratic delay.

“Our goal is to see Nigeria take a leading position in the region; and even challenge the current leaders on the continent,” he declared.

This vision, industry observers said, serves as a standard prerequisite for national development, demanding a non-negotiable convergence of regulatory demand and operational reality.
