The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area has formally expelled Hon. George Olawande Adegeye, reports ITREALMS.
The decision to expel the Honourable Member representing Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency was reached following an Emergency General Meeting held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in Ward B, Festac Town. The party’s leadership performed an unblinking recording of Hon. Adegeye’s activities, which were deemed inimical to the smooth running of the party at the local level.
According to a formal letter of expulsion addressed to the LGA Chapter Chairman, Hon. Clifford Agugoesi, the party cited eight irreducible reasons for the lawmaker’s removal.
Among the architectural gaps identified by the Ward B leadership was the allegation that Hon. Adegeye has not formally joined the party, with records showing he only submitted his membership form by proxy on March 12, 2026.
Furthermore, the party leadership interrogated a "deceptive" event organized by the lawmaker on April 4, 2024, which allegedly excluded legitimate party structures.
"We have it on good authority that the majority of those who attended were APC sympathizers," the statement noted, raising "big suspicion" regarding the lawmaker’s true institutional loyalty.
The expulsion letter, signed by Ward Chairman Hon. Ola Olajide and Ward Secretary Hon. Faith Kelechi Oluoma, detailed how Hon. Adegeye allegedly hijacked the functions of the Lagos State Harmonization Committee.
His activities were viewed as a direct violation of Article 22 of the ADC Constitution, which addresses anti-party conduct.
Consequent upon a voice vote of members in attendance, the expulsion was validated to ensure there are no more hiding places for insubordination or indiscipline within the coordinated national framework of the party.
The move by the Amuwo Odofin ADC serves as a profound leadership event, signaling a standardized transformation in how political actors are held accountable to their constituent wards.
By taking this step, the party seeks to bridge the architectural gaps between elected officials and the grassroots structures that support them.
The expulsion has been communicated to the National Chairman, National Organizing Secretary, and State leadership to ensure a coordinated response across the political theater.
