Currently at the helm of Brunei LNG, Falade will officially take over the leadership mantle in April 2026.

This transition follows the distinguished tenure of Dr. Philip Mshelbila, who is scheduled to depart the company on December 31, 2025.

Dr. Mshelbila’s exit marks a significant milestone in his career as he moves to Doha, Qatar, to serve as the Secretary-General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), where he will represent Nigeria’s interests on the global energy stage.

Dr. Mshelbila’s leadership was defined by a period of historic resilience, during which he successfully steered the company through the complexities of a post-pandemic economy and local infrastructure disruptions.

One of his most enduring legacies is the strategic diversification of NLNG’s feed-gas supply.

By moving beyond traditional shareholder supply chains, he orchestrated the signing of landmark agreements with six third-party gas suppliers in August 2025.

These agreements, which secure an estimated 1,290 mmscf/d of feed-gas, have effectively re-engineered NLNG’s business model for long-term sustainability and value creation in a volatile global market.
