Coordinator, Tuberculosis Network, Mrs Ifelunwa Aipoh who spoke on behalf of the team, proposed that the LGA to allow the officer in charge of Bajulaiye PHC access to the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) fund, so as to cater for pressing needs at the facility.

Mrs Aipoh also enjoined the council to find a lasting solution to the issues identified at Bajulaiye PHC such as dilapidated building, shortage of staff, inadequate BP apparatus, faulty weight/body scale, insufficient Long Last Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) and inadequate medical equipment.

In his response, the Supervisory Councillor for Health (Super4Health), Somolu Local Government, Honourable Ladi Onifade assured that the funds allocated to Bajulaiye is intact.

"Their funds is intact, nobody can tamper with it," he declared.

On the dilapidated building, Hon. Onifade assured the team that the council planned a total overhauling of the PHC.

"Bajulaiye PHC needs total overhauling which will reflect soon and not renovation so as to avoid unnecessary spending"

On the shortage of medical personnel, the Super4Health maintained there are competent and readily available doctors to attend to the patients.

Hon. Onifade emphasized on the need for the Officer in Charge (OIC) to liaise with other PHCs in getting LLINs which are in excess at other facilities.

ITREALMS gathered that Bajulaiye PHC has been listed as one of the beneficiaries of the NHIS route.

The SAT visitations team to Somolu Local Government included the Coordinator NEPHWAN, Mr Patrick Akpan, ATM State Coordinator, Mrs Bunmi Tejumola,State Program Officer, Ms Temitope James to name but a few.
