Information reaching
ITREALMS newsroom has shown how a 13-year old boy, Somtoochukwu Adizue who was abducted from the premises of St. Dominic Catholic Church Yaba, last Saturday, escaped a few hours later.

According to source close to the family told
ITREALMS that on Saturday, April 24, Master Somtoochukwu Adizue, aged 13 (popularly known as Somtoo) had attended evening Catechism Class in preparation for Sacrament of Confirmation (SOC).

ITREALMS also gathered that his mother is equally a Catechumen in the special Senior Adult Class.

"The two classes which started at 4:00pm ended at 6:00pm prompt," our source declared.

The family friend who pleaded anonymity, told
ITREALMS that Somto's father was already in church at this time to pick them up.

Equally,
ITREALMS gathered that Somtoo came out first but had to use the rest room with the permission of his father but soon after his mother came out "Somtoo was nowhere in sight," and so the search for the boy began.

The search for Somtoo around the premises,
ITREALMS learnt, lasted till about 9:10 PM when his mother called their neighbour who promptly informed them that Somtoo just got home; only for them to hurry home and found their son frightened, traumatized and unstable to speak but when he finally spoke, he narrated his ordeal:

"I went to use the restroom. Before I could enter the door, two men held me from the back, and suddenly I lost my consciousness. I could neither speak nor shout. I was huddled into a car booth and driven off towards an unknown destination.

"Since Rosary is what we use as our opening prayer, we are always asked to come to class with our Rosary. I brought out my Rosary to pray. I have not gone far, somewhat at 1st mystery when I heard a big sound. Apparently, my captors hit culvert and suddenly the booth opened. They came out of the car and ran away, perhaps for fear of arrest. I came out and with the help of good people around I made my way home."

Further, our source urged Catholics to learn the grace in the intervention of "Our Lady, Blessed Mother."

Stressing that "It is no doubt Our Blessed Mother never abandon her children even in the midst of unforeseen danger. It has once again, proved to all and sundry, that the prayer of the Holy Rosary is the shortest way to reach out to Mother of the Most High God and draw her attention for help, a very speedy help.

One of the leaders of the Catechists' Association, St. Dominic's Parish, Yaba, Lagos, Mr. Tony Ubili corroborated this story, saying there are lessons from the incident including that Somtoochukwu is from a very strong Catholic home. and a member of Altar Knights (Servers) in the parish, just as his father is a steward member of Catholic Charistmatic Renewal of Nigeria, in the parish. He has ensured his children recite the Holy Rosary on daily basis as strongly affirmed by his wife.

"Somtoo actually prepared for the Catechism Class with Rosary in his pocket," Ubili said.

"We are sincerely grateful to God Almighty whom it pleased to save the life of Master Somtoochukwu, through the powerful intercession of Our Blessed Mother, from the hands of his kidnappers. We pray that Our Lady will continually Intercede for us and protect our families through Christ, Our Most Holy Redeemer. Amen," Ubili further said.
