The Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) has mourned the death of President Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari as announced by Mr. Garba Shehu, President Buhari’s Spokesperson on Friday via Twitter, reports ITREALMS.

SYNW in a condolence message issued and signed by her National President, Wole Adedoyin described the late Chief of Staff as strong-willed in pursuing the ideals of national unity and security in Nigeria. The organization however described his death as a big loss to the country.

It would be recalled that Abba Kyari died at the First Cardiology Consultants Hospital, Lagos on Friday, 17th April 2020. He died from complications related to COVID-19.

SYNW believes that the Late Abba Kyari who also had a successful career as an accomplished businessman will be remembered for his meekness, attentiveness, commitment to excellence and the profound understanding of human affairs exhibited in his political strategy and ideology.

The umbrella body of young writers in the country further urged President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari’s extended family and all who mourn him to take solace in the knowledge that the much admired Statesman’s beliefs, views and insights will live forever through his good works he has left behind for present and future generations.

SYNW finally urged President Muhammadu Buhari to immortalize Late Abba Kyari’s name and prayed that Almighty Allah will receive his soul and grant him eternal rest.

In the same vein, the Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) also commiserated with the family, friends and associates of Professor Olatunji Akin Euba, a Nigerian composer, musicologist and pianist who died two weeks to his 85th birthday.

The inventor and theorist of the concept of African pianism, who also coined and popularised the term, ‘Creative Ethnomusicology’, passed on Tuesday evening in the United States aged 84.

SYNW described Professor Olatunji Akin Euba as a fountain of knowledge and professional expertise.

The Society finally prayed Almighty God to grant him eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
