The Coordinator of the African Centre for Media & Information Literacy (AFRICMIL), Mr Chido Onumah, has been released by the operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) after hours of interrogations, reports ITREALMS.
Chido's release came just before midnight on Sunday after he was earlier arrested on arrival from Spain where he had gone to conclude his doctorate in Communication Studies via graduation.
ITREALMS gathered that DSS released Onumah, earlier arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on arrival on Sunday evening.
According to the P.M. NEWS he was released about 10pm at the headquarters of the secret organisation.
Onumah was quoted as saying that he was interrogated over his book ‘We are all Biafrans,’ which he launched three years ago and especially why he wears a T-shirt with the title of the book on it.
He acknowledged being accused by DSS of being part of a plot to cause disaffection in the country, stressing that interrogation began at the airport before he was taken to the DSS headquarters before he was released.
