Etisalat relaunches 0809ija-for-life campaign

The management of acclaimed fastest growing mobile service operator in Nigeria, Etisalat, Thursday in Lagos, relaunched its 0809ija for life.

Chief executive officer of Etisalat Nigria, Mr. Steve Evans, said that in just three years operation in the country, the network has grown to be one of Nigerians favourite brands, hence the relaunch is expected to reinvigorate the brand a step over what its presently.

“We have grown to become one of 9ja’s favourite brands, this we couldn’t have done without meeting the aspirations of our customers,” he declared.

The unveiling of a new campaign theme, he said, is to further reinforce the uniqueness and also reinforce that Etisalat’s difference is not replicable, it is about an attitude and culture, and is simply a way of life.

He reiterated Etisalat’s commitment to innovation, customer-focus and quality of service.

“Since our launch in 2008, we have continued to deliver on our promise to offer Nigeria high quality, innovative products and services supported by best in class customer care,” he reassured.

Mr. Evans also said that the philosophy of Etisalat has always been to put customers at the heart of its business and they have developed several innovative products and offerings including Homezone, Bonus on incoming calls, You & me, Missed call notification, Easylife, Dotme, Dual SIM phones, our fast and reliable internet easyblaze and the first truly low cost 3G Android Smartphone – the Gaga to name a few.

As a caring brand, he said, Etisalat has demonstrated its customer focus through simple products, uncomplicated transparent tariff structures with no hidden costs, world class call centers, best in class retail outlets and partnership with major distributors nationwide to ensure that customers have easy access to the world.

“We have also paid a great deal of attention to building a quality network, and this is evident in the awards and endorsements we have received in the past,” he declared.

This, he said, has resulted in Etisalat being recognized as Nigeria’s best GSM network based on Key Performance Indicators on more than one occasions by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) in the last three years, among other industry awards.

He said, as a truly Nigerian brand, Etisalat realizes early that distinguishing itself using unique products and services would offer customers greater opportunities, stressing that this strategy paid off and has made it possible for it to effectively compete with the older players in this market.

‘We have invested heavily in Nigeria to grow our business as well to enhance competition in the market and Nigerian consumers have benefited enormously as prices have fallen from 50k/s or 60k/s to 20k/s under Etisalat’s unique leadership,” he asserted.

Further, he said, that Etisalat’s customer base has grown to 12 million in three years, describing the mobile operator as simply the fastest growing telecoms company in Nigeria.

“Etisalat says a big thank you to 9ja for giving us the opportunity to become their network of choice,” he said.

In response to questions by ITRealms Online, the Director, Brand Communication at Etisalat, Mr. Enitan Dinloye, said the latest campaign on 0809ija for life were produced in the country focusing on the youthful essence of the mobile network to relate to the youths and youths at heart.

The casts, he said, featured mostly Nigerians who have distinguished themselves; hence they look forward to such campaign take the rhythm higher than the first phase of 0809ija which heralded Etisalat launch in 2008.
