HiTv signs MoU with ETB

The management of the pre-paid digital television provider, Highway Entertainment Nigeria Limited, trading with the name, HiTV, last weekend signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with one of the nation’s surviving banks, Equitorial Trust Bank (ETB) to make the acquisition of HiTV decoders and subscription easy for customers.
Deputy General Manager, Corporate & Commercial unit of Equitorial Trust Bank, Mr. Wale Ogunrinde, made this disclosure in a press statement made available to ITRealms Online.

As said by him, a swell time awaits lovers of European football in the country as ETB has taken up the provision of a unique platform to acquire HiTV decoder and subscription without stress on its pre-paid cable services.

The offer, he said, comes with zero equity contribution, no hidden charges and free decoder, pointing out that the collaboration is on the heels of recent HiTV exclusive license to broadcast Champions League in addition to the existing premiership.

Ogunrinde also noted that the company has introduced two exciting bouquets for the enjoyment of the whole family.

“While football lovers will have the opportunity to watch Premiership, UEFA Champions League and CAF Champions League matches among other exciting entertainment channels in the Premium bouquet, Subscribers to the HiTV Classic bouquet  will have the opportunity to watch exciting programmes including Discovery World, Fox News, Hi-nolly among others,” he said.

According to him, the deal tagged: ETB/HITV Subscription Finance Scheme, the MoU signed with HITV affords the financing of HITV facility for customers and non-customers of the bank with repayment spread over six months.

He further said the package was targeted at all the bank’s customers and non-customers most of whom are ardent sport enthusiasts especially football, which cuts across all categories of Nigerians and non-Nigerians alike.

“ETB is desirous of making HiTV affordable to low level income earners who will be able to watch live matches of their darling teams; Arsenal, Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid etc from the comfort of their homes” They will also watch their heroes; Mikel, Ronaldo, Eto, Igwe, Messi, Inesta, live” he said.
Additionally, he said, with the rising interest of Nigerians in European football and clubs the scheme would make it extremely easy for Nigerians to watch matches in the comfort of their homes with payment arranged over a period of time.

“Under the scheme, customers get a pro-forma invoice from Highway Entertainment Limited detailing the cost of the decoder with 12 months’ subscription, installation and other logistics,” he said, stressing that the customer could simply walk into any branch of the bank, pick and complete the bank’s asset and acquisition form, open a current or savings account with the bank and the bank will make payment to HiTV.
