The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has advanced plans to firm up a cybersecurity framework for securing digital infrastructure and enhancing online safety for consumers in the Nigerian communications industry, reports ITREALMS.The framework, with likely implementation timeline by telecom licensees set for 2026, will address security challenges arising from the emerging technologies towards creating a more secure digital economy in Nigeria.

IPC urges professionals, tech users to safeguard press freedom - ITREALMS

The Lagos-based International Press Centre (IPC) has urged the global community, especially professionals and technology users on the need to safeguard the press freedom, reports ITREALMS.The Executive Director of IPC, Mr. Lanre Arogundade made this call on the occasion of the 2022 World Press Freedom Day (WPFD) and enjoined the Nigerian government to respect its commitment and uphold the right to freedom of expression as enshrined in Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the African Charter on Peoples and Human Rights.
