The government of Mauritius has initiated a high-level investigation into the affairs of the African Network Information Centre (AFRINIC) Ltd, a company currently under receivership, citing a "questionable" legal process and significant reputational damage to the island nation, reports ITREALMS.
According to a General Notice (No. 1045 of 2025) published in the Extraordinary edition of the Mauritius Government Gazette on Friday, July 18, 2025, and available to ITREALMS, AFRINIC, the designated Regional Internet Registry for the African continent, has been officially declared a "declared company" under Section 230 of the Companies Act.
