Dangote Refinery debunks mass sack claim, insists over 3,000 remain employed despite ongoing re-organisation - ITREALMS

The management of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has dismissed as unfounded allegations by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) that the company carried out mass sackings in retaliation for workers joining the association.

In a statement, the refinery described the claims as misleading, clarifying that the ongoing re-organisation within its workforce is intended to strengthen operations and address repeated cases of sabotage that posed safety risks and disrupted production.

Abductors demand N2.2bn ransom on Lagos merchant, Fouani, 3 others - ITREALMS

The kidnappers of the Managing Director of Fouani Group of Companies, Mr. Mohamed Fouani, the franchise distributors of LG and Hisense Electronics products in the country, at the Lagos waterway, have reportedly contacted the company and family, demanding $1.5 million, about (N2,243,250,000.00 billion) as ransom, just as the Police said it has intensified investigations, reports

An unconfirmed reports quoted this Sunday morning by ThisDay as saying that Mr. Fouani and three other Lebanese, were kidnapped on Friday evening, June 14, 2024 at the axis of Falomo Bridge, Ikoyi, Lagos, while travelling from Apapa to Victoria Island by boat.

Improving education: Soludo to recruit 3,000 teachers in Anambra - ITREALMS

The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo has announced that his administration will soon recruit a minimum of 3000 additional teachers to be posted exclusively to public schools in the state. It will be recalled that about 5,000 teachers were recruited last year when the administration was barely nine months old in office.
